As president of Capitol View Arts, I am thrilled to introduce our Creative Entrepreneurship Cohort
program to the community. This initiative I s dedicated to empowering local BIPOC artists by providing t h e tools and support they need to develop sustainable careers in t h e arts. As part of the program, we
proudly present our featured exhibition for the Austin Studio Tour, Dreams In Metallic. This theme has allowed our talented artists to depict their dreams and aspirations through the vibrant and reflective use of metallic colors, showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. I want to thank the incredible artists who brought their visions to life, our partners, sponsors, cohort presenters, and the Austin
community. Your continued support and contributions have made this event, a n d t h e Creative Entrepreneurship Cohort program, possible. Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive a r t s
community that celebrates the diversity and brilliance of Austin's emerging talent, a n d w e couldn't have done it without you.

Big thanks to Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts for assisting our amazing visual artists in our new Creative Entrepreneur Cohort.

It's been amazing working with TALA to help our artists train for success on copyright law, creating business entities, risk management, and more.

Our friend Capitol View Arts is running an amazing program for visual artists called the Creative Entrepreneur Cohort. It has been our pleasure to get to work with these artists on everything from copyright to business entities and risk management! Expect to see more from this group, they are amazing. โค

Making the right decision

You want to share your artistic vision. You have a great idea to help your community. But is a nonprofit organization the right choice, and if so, how do you do it? Join us as we walk you through a list of everything youโ€™ll need to decide if a 501(c)(3) is right for you, and how to get to the finish line.

This seminar will be helpful for organizations that are currently fiscally sponsored to evaluate the benefit and responsibility of becoming an independent 501c3.

Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/starting-an-arts-nonprofit-tickets-643354369237

Still have questions, or already have a 501(c)(3) organization? Weโ€™ll be back on June 27 with a discussion of specific legal issues that affect nonprofits.

Celebrating Juneteenth @ The Historic Victory Grill;
The Historic Victory Grill and Capitol View Arts welcome back celebrated and rising NYC and Austin-based jazz vocalist Joshua Banbury, for a special concert with his trio on Juneteenth 2023 at 8 pm, during their Juneteenth Happay hour.
In a celebration of the legacy of African American music, his set will feature tributes to Texas music luminaries such as Victoria Spivey, Blind Lemon Jeerson, and Eddie Durham, as well as other legendary artists who have graced the stage of The Historic Victory Grill, like Tina Turner Billy Hiloday and BB King.
Joshua is a native Austinite and has recently been a featured soloist with The New York Philharmonic, Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and The Baltimore Symphony.
In addition, he has been invited to present recitals at The Phillps Collection, National Sawdust, The Carver Museum, The Historic Victory Grill, Soho House Austin, D.C. Strings, and the Alexandria Symphony. He is currently the artist in residence at The Square House Project in East Austin and at The Historic Victory Grill.
In addition, he was a fellow with the American Lyric Theatre, the nationโ€™s premiere program for opera composers and librettists, from 2020-2021. L.A. Opera, Washington National Opera, The Kennedy Center, and Fort Worth Opera have presented their original operas. Joshua graduated from The New School and The Austin School for Performing and Visual Arts.
He is looking forward to his debut concert at The Apollo Theatre on November 4th, later this year.
