Y’all this may be my proudest project so far: the reclamation of our front entrance. After the big freeze wiped out most of the cactus, it was time for curb appeal. With the help of Cruz and our new Kubota tractor (weee!) I was able to bring my vision to life. I wanted to preserve and revive our old original sign from the 70s, simplify and expand the landscape to feel bigger and more welcoming, minimize maintenance, spend as little as possible, and maintain our retro, campy Texas vibe. We dug out some rocks from our creek and repurposed sheet metal from my old chicken coop roof. I propagated the cactus & agaves that did survive and added some freeze/drought tolerant plants. It makes me happy every time I walk past it. A true labor of love 💛 Swipe to see it go backwards in time!

What a glorious day for a company picnic! We are honored and thrilled to have here today. Perfect weather, perfect pool, delicious tacos from (with vegan options!) and I can hear shrieks of laughter echoing around the property as I type. Success!

We had a tasting this week with .bbq ! Everything was delicious! While we are not doing our in-house catering this year, these amazing folks will be filling in for us for events that want food. (BBQ isn’t all they do...) Looking forward to our first “food” party this weekend!

Just a cute, healthy and active little friend I found in the pool skimmer. He was unharmed thanks to all the pecan tree pollen clogging the basket. Took him down to our creek to set him free 💚
