Family love, traditions and Super Bomb Tamales!
It all started in Glen Flora, TX 1927 where my grandmother, Maria Trevino, was born. She was Texas born and raised, until 4 years old when she moved to Montemorelos, Mexico to live with her grandmother Sylvestra; there she learned how to cook amazing home cooked Mexican food. At the age of 18 she married my grandfather Juventino Saldivar, had 14 children and at the young age of 55 answered the call to help raise my brother and I; that’s why I call her Mom. I grew up in the kitchen with her where she showed me all our family’s recipes and secrets. Now that I am a chef I’ve decided to share one of my all time favorites from her...TAMALES! Please join me by celebrating my family’s food and legacy by trying my delicious tamales just like Maria makes!
