About the show: Based on the popular film, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek and was nominated for eleven Tony Awards. Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson is just starting his con-man career. After meeting on a train, they form an alliance, only to find that a small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing to the end!

The play is directed by Lara Toner Haddock and Sarah Fleming Walker with music direction by Lyn Koenning.

AUDITIONS!!!!
Think you’ve got what it takes to tackle one of the most outrageous, hilarious, and socially relevant musicals of our time? Don’t hold back—Urinetown auditions are coming up, and we’re looking for actors, singers, and dancers ready to make a splash!

Directed by Johnathon Young
Auditions: December 7th
For more audition info and to reserve audition time, visit https://bastropoperahouse.org/auditions/

Winner of three Tony Award and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social responsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself. Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America’s greatest art forms.

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom!

All roles are listed in the online audition form.
