I’m definitely not happy right now.
You never know. After working security at the Texas game I drove to Elgin to deliver a suit to a client to use on his cruise leaving Monday.
I was tired and worn out. Just 1/2 a mile from home comes an old truck with one headlight driving fast coming straight at me in my lane.
I turned onto a a short road before my turn into my street so I noticed him quickly.
No street lights because it’s a farm road.
I flashed high beams and blew my horn but he didn’t move and in fact looked like he leaned more into my lane.
2 lane no shoulder road.
I looked behind me and to both sides. Soft shoulders with a slight drop off.
He wasn’t slowing down or moving.
I waited until the last moment and swung wide right and barely missed him.
Looked in my rear view and noticed he never left my lane and barely stopped at the stop.
It’s Labor Day weekend people. This was Saturday night around 9:30pm.
He was definitely messed up and it was something not right in the behavior of that truck.
Watch out people. Really be on the look out.
If you think you’re a bad ass and can drive buzzed and it’s your business if you mess up you’re right.
But no one and I mean no one has the right to endanger the lives of others with their stupidity in decision making and driving while pendejo or pendeja!
I have no sympathy for anyone like that.
I lost my grandfather to a drunk driver.
I’m damn good at driving because I do it professionally so I consider myself blessed this time. Not lucky because I’m trained and was aware and it wasn’t my time.
God has given me abilities.
I choose to continue to enhance those to put myself in situations where I can use them wisely for the betterment of others and of course self.
Just advice folks. Be more aware this weekend.
Some people say you gain more patience as you get older. It’s the opposite with me. I no longer suffer the stupidity of others to the extent I used to.
If you think you’re above others by putting them at risk then I have zero tolerance for you.
Do not drive messed up, buzzed up, if you’re sick and can’t concentrate and most of all quit playing around with cars.
Quit blocking people from passing you on the highway.
No one made you the damn highway patrol and you don’t know their needs or emergency.
Quit flipping people off and get some manners.
Learn the rules of the road and especially the lay of the land. In other words have some idea where you’re going before you get in the car.
Clean your windows and the left lane is for passing.
Going slower than the speed limit is just as bad as speeding. It’s called impeding movement.
Truckers remember to stay off the left lane on 35 as I saw one was reminded by a motorcycle state trooper rather sternly the other day.
Make sure your signal lights work and USE them.
The other drivers are not mind readers.
AND PUT DOWN THAT DAMN CELL PHONE!
You don’t look cool, you look like an idiot.
You’re not that important.
All cars are capable of Bluetooth to connect your phone. Learn how and quit being lazy and ignorant.
If you need to as a professional driver use a Bluetooth earpiece for emergency calls.
Quit looking at car accidents when passing one. Next one could be you.
Slow down when passing flashing safety vehicles.
When you pull to the side for an ambulance and they pass you, you don’t get to pull in behind and play chase to pass everyone else.
There’s more but if I need to say it then it’s too late for whoever and you don’t need to be driving.
I’m not even going there about motorcycles or bicycles.
Yeah, I ranted and you read it.
Be careful driving. Don’t act entitled. Driving is a privilege and it’s earned and it’s not a right.
We all know someone who doesn’t need to own a pair of keys.
For the sake of our kids. Be better or you might never get another chance or take that away from someone.
Amen!
