If there is something that needs to get done, someone in my life that needs help, something of any sort that needs my attention- I’ll always give the time needed and will be the first to admit, often put myself last in the equation. What I’ve come to realize though, is if you aren’t feeling 100% your best, then you can’t be there and serve others the way your heart desires. This week has been a wake up call.

For those who don’t know, at the age of 16 I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma polycystic kidneys. The short version, I had cancerous cysts in my body as a teenager and have an ongoing kidney disease with no cure that is known for being “the most deadly disease, the world doesn’t even know about.”... but wether you met me 5 minutes ago or 15 years ago, you’ll likely know I don’t go down without a fight.
😅
Most people likely would roll with the punches and take it day by day. But for me, I have to plan months and years in advance with the industry I’m in. Needless to say, I had to stop thinking about myself last and start putting my mental and physical health at the priority.

Wednesday Wrap-Up: If there’s anything I’ve learned through this journey it’s that you need to release things that no longer serve you. You can’t serve others if you aren’t doing right by yourself and you can’t believe in yourself to be the best version possible, if you continually put yourself last. Don’t wait until it’s too late to make a change. You deserve it. Put yourself first. Be your own motivation. Fight for what’s important to you.
