The Pearce Jr. High building opened in 1958 in Austin TX. Known as Bertha Sadler Means YWLA since 2014, the building saw its last season of students here in 2024. Though the school will continue to operate in temporary portables, the building will be demolished and a new one will be built on the same site. The architects of the new project have incorporated the unique diamond overhands and windows into the new design. I love the sunken courtyard with a little stage.

Also did some bbq tourism at . I live in a swirl of post oak smoke fron the best in Texas bbq, but sometimes I miss that sweet hickory goodness of Arkansas and Oklahoma bbq. Nom.

Another State Fair of Texas in the books! The last pic was on the cover of the guide book. I can't say for certain that the fair folks paid homage to the annual meetup, but I like to think they did. You can't convince me otherwise 😄

I had the craziest kissmet experience of serendipity. 2 of my oldest and beloved friends- who did not plan this and don't even socialize that much- ended up having weddings on the the same Thursday afternoon, in the same city, and just a couple ofmiles apart. So I was able to double-up and attend both weddings on the same trip. It was a very soul-warming day of watching these people that I love finally find their person. What an awesome day and I was so fortunate to experience it all.

Yesterday vs today. We were beachside all weekend and I had a whole photography outing planned for today, but the freezing weather said otherwise. So we're home in our robes snuggling dogs and instead of discovering buildings and streets of Corpus. There's always next time...

I was asked what was my favorite shot I took from this weekend at . Without even looking through the rest of them, I can say it is undoubtedly this goofy selfie with me and my Texas Bestie (muh Texie) at the weekend finale seeing in their home(ish) turf. I like the sick green light burn too. What an amazing convention.
