The folks at Yurtopian in Dripping Springs, Texas had us come out to do a shoot with a couple of models that would highlight their set up for small weddings and of course, the yurts. Handmade in Mongolia, the yurt is stunning in design and color. Just outside on the deck is a cold plunge, showers and bathroom.

This is the most memorable moments in my career as a wedding photographer. Justin called and wanted to do a marriage proposal to Felicia in the Camp Lucy vineyard. For sure, I dress up as a vineyard worker with cameras hidden for THE moment. She said yes! Then in the second image, he ask if she will marry him the VERY NEXT day! He had smuggled 2 wedding dresses in the trunk of his car for her to choose from. She said yes again. The very next day Karen Peary married them at Chapel Dulcinea. To this day I love keeping up with Justin, Felicia and their blended family on social.

In 2011 Lost Oak Winery Founder Gene Estes had a vision for a world class Sherry style Texas Viognier. The Viognier harvest from Bingham Family Vineyards in 2011 was too good to not try something drastic. So, he put some in a new French oak barrel, added some white brandy, and then…. forgot about it. The barrel has moved around as the winery has grown, spending time in various places throughout its 13 year aging process. Sometimes subjected to blazing heat and below freezing temperatures. Every few years he would inquire about it, but the winemaking team was busy, so it sat, quietly aging. In 2024, the barrel eventually found its way into Winemaker Angela’s office. That’s when she said, “what’s this and why is it in my office?
