March 2019 Happenings on the Farm: Well March bought nothing but cold, cold, snow, snow, and more cold and snow!!!! But here at FBTL it was fun fun fun. The Skeeter Be**er Racers shot out of the gait at -4 below and strangled back into the finish line much faster than expected. However, they said not to fear it was a great workout. We moved on next to Chad Filley who made us laugh and laugh at the wonderful stories he told. And ended the month with Paulette Friday who brought some friends out to help providing music to her stories of history. Even a Limberjack and Chicken for percussion instruments. Our guest this month have been weekend retreaters and have enjoyed the 20+ deer out in the yard day and night. On a sad note: The Board of Directors here at FBTL made the decision on March 14 that the Summer Concert Series for 2019 will be cancelled.
Well, here is hoping that March 31st drags Winter with it, even if it is kicking and screaming along the way. April and Sunshine is what we need!!!!!

February 2019 happenings on the Farm: February brought in the cold. The bone numbing, eyelash sealing, wind cut, school closed, movie marathon, comfort casserole & hot chocolate with layered blankets cold. And on top of that it brought the snow. So much snow. Light and fluffy, low visibility, feet upon feet, bring in a bobcat to push it back to plow it more, deer covered in layers just trying to eat or sleep - shaking it off kind of snow. Due to this weather we had to reschedule our writing workshop with Wendell Affield until April 7th. However, storyteller Louis Alemayehu travelled from Mnneapolis to entertain a brave audience, who were greatly rewarded for their efforts. Why would someone rent a cabin in this kind of weather? Well, this month it has been several reasons: surprise for spouse, 18th birthday weekend, funeral, family time, and of course everyone enjoyed the antics of the deer outside their windows. Heres to hoping March brings more sunshine and all this ice and snow melts slowly!

Today's Writing Workshop has been postponed due to weather
New date will be April 7
