(LONG POST ALERT) Jubilee (aka penki) came to us from a slaughter house in Texas in July 2021 . After a 24hr trailer ride in a middle of a heat wave she arrived to us skinny dirty and hungry. We called the vet out as soon as we could and found out she was indeed two months pregnant , had a slight infection in her nose. All should be fine after antibiotics . But things started to go down hill. Her infection had spread to her lungs. She had full blown pneumonia and we were told she will most likely miscarry . We started another round of antibiotics but she just got worse. I got a call that she was breathing extremely hard and was on the ground. I showed up at 5 am to her in her pen not wanting to get up. After minutes of fighting we got her up and moving. We knew we needed to change something NOW. So we brought her home for 24 hour care . The next week was touch and go. The vet came out and her heart rate was 3x the normal rate. He gave us the option to put her down because the possibility of us finding her dead that next morning was HIGH. She was fighting and we weren't going to give up on her . My sister offered prayer and to come do communion with us and penki. When she showed up Penki just stood by us like a shell of a horse . We prayed and took communion . Then shoved some juice soaked bread in her mouth as she swallowed her ears poked up and you could see her eyes were alert. We sat there for a while taking about what Jubilee meant and we decided if she made it threw the night we would change her name to Jubilee. The next day we woke up to her neighing and walking around the yard. She completely turned around she felt so good she would meet us at the door , she even started breaking out of her gated area every night . It was time to take her back to the stables. Two weeks of her back there and the vet came out... She's healthy! He was amazed to see how well she was doing and how much weight she put on. So we did another ultrasound. SHES STILL PREGNANT!
