I’m completely heartbroken.
Why, McKenna Dalton… why did you have to leave us?

You were only 41, and so full of life. I will never be okay with your loss.

Today, we lost a best friend, a family member, and truly one of the best humans I’ve ever known. It doesn’t feel real. You were just with us this morning we were getting ready for our beach trip, because our beach trips were never the same without you.

I’ll miss your humor your wit was unmatched. And your random facts? They kept us on our toes and always made us smile. I absolutely adored you.

But more than anything, I loved the way you loved my Kayla. The way you looked at each other… the way you liked each other, not just loved one another — it was rare and so special. Just being around you both was a gift.

I’m heartbroken for me that I’ll never hear your laugh again or get to laugh at you the way we always did. But more than anything, I’m shattered for my best friend and cousin, who just lost her soulmate.

The kind of love and friendship you two shared doesn’t come around often. And I’m so incredibly blessed that I got to witness it and be part of it.

I will forever miss you, McKenna. 💔
