Rufus Reid, one of today’s premiere bassists on the international jazz scene, with his reputation firmly established in the education arena, now adds composition to his vitae. Rufus participated in the BMI Jazz Composer’s Workshop for five years which has empowered him to move more deeply into the composing arena. He has written for string orchestra, jazz ensembles large and small, concert band, double bass ensemble pieces and a solo bass composition.

The daughter of a European composer and a Great American Songbook singer, native New Yorker Roberta Piket is a pianist and organist who loves to swing while exploring the more adventurous harmonic possibilities of jazz and improvised music.Roberta’s father was the Austrian composer Frederick Piket, whose works were performed by the New York Philharmonic under famed conductor Dimitri Mitropoulos.

Mike Forfia performing artist, musician, and teacher has a deep understanding of tension and release. As a bassist, I bridge gaps and facilitate critical synergy. Within organizations, I help others understand and befriend natural tension, while also seeking greater resonance and release where needed at executive and local levels. Santiago Leibson is a Brooklyn-based, Argentinian-born jazz pianist and composer. His music is situated in the frontier of jazz, improvised music, and classical and contemporary music. As a bandleader, he has released five records: Amon (2014), Pendular (2015), Out of Orden (2016), Episodes (2018) and Little Pieces (2020).

Majid Khaliq music is an eclectic blend of styles and influences, which pull from European classical, jazz, and hip-hop. The recipient of the prestigious Edward and Sally Van Lier Fellowship Award for composition. From 2015 thru 2017, Majid’s eponymous band, “Ma*Jid” was named a Rising Star Violinist by Downbeat Magazine.

Conun Pappas was the recipient of the Piano Legacy Award from the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. In addition
to performing, he is also an active educator; working with organizations such as Carnegie Hall, The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He also serves as the musical director at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in the Bronx.

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Gloria Shih is recognized for her diverse abilities as pianist and as a collaborative artist. She has worked with members of the Emerson String Quartet, members of the Meridian Arts Ensemble, and members of the Metropolitan Opera.

Her performances have included venues such as Carnegie’s Weill Hall, Merkin Hall and Oji Hall in Tokyo. She has received critical acclaim for her performances throughout Asia, Europe and North America, including engagements in Philadelphia, North Carolina, Westchester, California, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, Minnesota, Southampton, England, Japan, and South Korea.

As an active chamber musician, she founded Gracieux Trio in 2003. The trio won critical acclaim for the debut album and the second CD, and has been giving concerts and master classes regularly in Taiwan and Japan.
