Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!

There are very few movies out there that revolve around the American tradition of Super Bowl Sunday and even fewer that have the fun, energy, and quotability as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994). Being at a very impressionable pre-teen age in the early 90s when this film hit rental shelves some of you can only imagine what it must have been like to have your parents agree to rent this. It felt like pulling teeth and little white lies that it was safe for a 12 year old even though we watched horror in the house on regular.

Jim Carrey had been in the business for almost a decade with moderate success and was gaining huge traction in stand up and In Living Color so when this blew up everyone had to have it and it made him the bonified comedy legend he is today, and anyone who owned the VHS knew this was the bonified TRUE version of this movie with scenes not seen in theaters such as The Dolphin Trainer!

Now we must acknowledge that certain subjects were not handled with the respect and maturity they deserved even 30 years ago, But Even with its very uncool transphobic 3rd act reveal it never reach’s the levels of offensive to the point of unwatchability. IMO the rest of the film is a joy to watch and gets us into the Super Bowl spirit every year!

Wednesday, October 30th join us at The Wine Collective for The Home Recorded Halloween Video Party! Starting at 6pm come dressed in your best costume yet for a Halloween party that will rewind you straight back to your childhood! CRYPT VIDEO RENTALS this weekend at was a hit! I am so proud to be apart of a team of individuals that continually delivers a pop up experience that invites community and creative freedom to all who enter.

As a business we were able to put to use our inventory of equipment and collections to collaborate and create an unforgettable immersive video store experience complete with a large format movie theater and photo opportunities it was an amazing weekend and experience to bring this to life and I cannot thank enough people for their time, creativity, work, genorcity, and just plain community as mentioned prior.
I hope you enjoyed your time at our event as we did bringing it to life!
