One thing I don’t do enough is BTS when shooting or selfies from client sessions. It’s obviously a thing as sometimes people want to see the artist behind the work 📸

Someone inquired about a shoot and asked “do you know how to shoot dark skinned women?”

Let me say that my response was “that’s relative…”

We come in many beautiful shades, from paper bag brown (or lighter) to midnight black…like I said, all beautiful 🙌🏽 she identified as a dark skin woman and who was I to challenge that. H

This person told me how she was teased as a child for her dark skin and big lips and that she stayed away from the camera all these years as a result.

Photography is not just a photo shoot, in some cases it’s therapy. It’s conquering a fear.

I shoot people. Black. White. HUMANS. Doesn’t matter. As long as the shoot doesn’t go against my morals and values, you are always welcome in front of my camera 📸

Cheers to so many of you that didn’t stop loving and living life despite those childhood verbal assaults…you were beautiful/handsome then, and you are beautiful and handsome now 🙌🏽
