They had a vision to become entrepreneurs and successful business people. They got together one day with their business partner(s),brainstormed and set a path to followed their dreams. I am grateful that I was a tiny part of the dream because I was there cheering them on in the beginning and in the YARD being eaten almost alive by mosquitoes as they showed me the “ I stream of Yogurt “ trailer nicely parked behind them. It was Top Secret and I couldn’t share what I had seen with anyone 😔But now I can get a bullhorn and share the news!!!

Our Story

In 2009 Shannel L. Roberson MBA, PMP, and president founded A Saphyre Affair (ASA) an event planning company. ASA serviced clients in New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Chicago, Washington, Atlanta and Baltimore. Venues included but were not limited to: Bridal showers, weddings, baby showers, fashion shows, speed dating, community affairs and participation in breast cancer awareness events The company was managed by a team of 4, Shannel Roberson Event Planning Director, Kibwe Ali, Marketing Manager, Priscilla Brantley, co-marketing director and contract administrator, and Dorothy Roberson, Operations Manager.

In 2013 the company’s name changed to Saphyre LLC and expanded its businesses to include women and men’s apparel; scarves, wraps, and ponchos, In March 2013 the business further expanded and its primary focused was creating one of a kind a jewelry which consists of precious and semi-precious gemstones. Following the birth of Shannel’s only child London and Dorothy’s grand daughter, G-Ma jewels was born!

Dorothy Roberson is the creator of one of a kind Saphyre accessories and G-Ma jewels. She has participated in trunk shows and other venue and has sold many of her designs in upscale NY westchester county boutiques; JAMES, Hollbrook Cottage, and MARCH.
