REMEMBRANCE: MADELINE WHEELER MURPHY

Madeline Wheeler Murphy was a dedicated community activist and organizer, among many other roles, who fought for racial, social, and economic justice within South Baltimore’s Cherry Hill community, Baltimore City, and far beyond.

In commemoration of Madeline Wheeler Murphy's birthday, on October 24th, the Youth Resiliency Institute (YRI) designated this date as Madeline Wheeler Murphy Day across all YRI programming.

On Madeline Wheeler Murphy Day and THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, The Youth Resiliency Institute (YRI) honors Murphy's legacy by organizing workshops and art-based projects that illuminate Murphy's remarkable contributions and ignite the imaginations of new generations. We invite you to learn more about Madeline Wheeler Murphy at the 2025 Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival!
