What a day! It was a HOT one out there, but the teams gathered in Patterson Park anyway with coolers of icy bevies, every lawn game imaginable, and that Urban Olympic spirit we love. It came down to the final relay race (sc***ng sweep, hula hands, dizzy bat, frunderpants) and
the BLUE team took home the medals!

Thanks for helping us shake off the pandemic dust and get back to the silliness. Hopefully we can see you on the ice for Winter Olympics!

OLYMPIANS!!!!

The Blue team just won the charity challenge by $39 dollars.

Charity Challenge - Blue ($39 dollar difference)
Trivia Challenge - Blue (tied until the final question)
Physical Challenge - Under Review (probably red)

MORE IMPORTANTLY - The Urban Olympics Family raised $6,381 for the Maryland Food Bank!!!

1 in 4 Marylander’s are currently facing food insecurity. $30 can feed 1 out-of-work individual for a month. So, we raised enough to support 212 people for a month. Or almost 18 people for a year!

We cannot contain our excitement that you have all exceeded our expectations in an unprecedented and difficult time.

You did good kids. You did good.

Urban Olympics 2020 - COVID EDITION
Best out of three games. Lasts the entire month of July!

Game 1: Charity Challenge
Lasts the entire month of July. Whichever team raises the most money for The MD Foodbank wins this challenge. Fundraisers will be originated on Facebook from each team captain. (Starts Wednesday)

Game 2: Trivia Challenge
Date to be announced! Red and Blue will sign in to a Zoom Trivia night online.

Game 3: Physical Challenge
The goldfish toss. How many team members can catch a goldfish cracker in their mouth?! Distance counts! For each 5 feet from the release point your team will receive 1 point towards this challenge. If you toss a goldfish cracker from 25 feet into the mouth of your teammate - you get 5 points. Got it?

1’ to 5’ (including 5) = 1 pts
5’ 1” to 10’ = 2 pts
10’ 1” to 15’ = 3 pts
15’ 1” to 20’ = 4 pts
And so on…

RULES OF THE PHYSICAL CHALLENGE
- MUST be captured on video and posted to the Urban Olympics Group on Facebook or posted on Instagram and tag .
- Distance must be documented in the video (get a tape measure). Measurement is from the release point to the mouth! This means from the fingertip to the lips!!!
- You must clearly identify your team color in the video and team membership must be verified by BOTH captains.
- We are not liable for any choking during the filming of this challenge.
- At least 1 member of the toss must be registered.
- You can only submit 1 video.
- If you submit an actual live goldfish toss - your team will lose 20 points.

REGISTRATION
$20 = UO2020 face mask, trivia entry fee, physical challenge entry, and victory medal (if your team wins) mailed/delivered to your house.

Registration and Charity Challenge opens Wednesday, July 1st, 2020!
(If you don’t want to participate in trivia and physical challenge you are still welcome to donate, but you will not receive a super cool face mask! Make sure you submit for the right team)
