Steph and James at the Cosmos Club in DC. These two brought the most magnetic energy to their wedding day, radiating joy to everyone around them. In a special nod to their guests, Steph wrote handwritten thank you notes to every single guest, to leave at their place settings for dinner. It was so sweet to watch guests enter the room and find these little surprises, reinforcing the closeness everyone felt to S&J on their day.

In an autumnal mood and baby Gopal is enjoying allll the foods; it was such a treat to join our planner besties last week for a five course dinner in the Virginia countryside at . A brand new property available to host exquisite tented weddings with stunning hillside views, dinner was held in this fully-renovated luxury barn (think Magnolia home aesthetic, which we love). There are so many endless possibilities in this space and we can’t wait to see all of the future weddings there! Thank you to as always for creating a gorgeous evening and to for the photos!

Five varieties of linens from , hundreds of wildflowers from , grapevines weaving through the ceiling rafters and reflected on the pattern on one of the tables, menus lovingly created by hand by a close friend, farm-to-table cuisine and local Virginia wine, candlelight, warmth, hugs, and the best vibes to set the tone for a night of dancing and delight.

BRIDEStalk room flips—if you’re using the same space for your ceremony AND reception, there are a few tricks we use behind the scenes to make sure this transition happens seamlessly. 💯 Hire a trusted caterer who has ample experience with your venue. Truly, they have the team numbers to facilitate all of the moving parts and move tables around. Your planner will know more about this, because good caterers make our jobs so much easier! 💯 Pre-set tables, if possible. We’ve done it both ways and it definitely takes longer to fully build and set tables rather than having them pre-set. 💯 Make sure your florist and any other key vendors (lighting!) are on site to assist. Many hands make light work 💅🏻 For this wedding, our stationer was also on site, which was amazing @polkpaper! 💯 Plan out with the caterer in advance when they’ll pour water and when room and detail photos will be taken. And, take weather/humidity into account (no one wants water rings on their linens in gorgeous table photos)! 💯 Be flexible with cocktail hour timing and increase it to an hour and a half if possible.
