Did you know that carnations used to be fragrant before breeders bred the scent out of them to allow them to be shipped thousands of miles out of water and still be viable? UGH!
Heirloom carnations have a spicy, clove-like fragrance. The smell is intoxicating. Once you have a chance to smell them, you'll never look at carnations the same way again.
I'm so lucky to be able to source fragrant, heirloom carnations from Hendricks Flowers in Lititz, PA.
