It feels really great to be alive! Especially if you’ve been keeping up with the last few months. And if ya know me, I’m not really one for rolling platitudes. It just feels really great to have some shows I’m involved in again, even if they aren’t mine start to finish I have absolutely no problem promoting folks I believe in and I absolutely believe in and support these guys and they were kind enough to allow me to contribute some boots on ground in the area promo busy work while I’ve been licking my wounds so to speak. I’ve got stuff in the works beyond this, but for right here, right now it’s analogue needle in the groove old school do what I do. Wanna keep in the loop a quick scan will do it.

We are pleased to announce that Beat Farm will be involved in a Texas Blues Search Of sorts this coming spring/summer. Multiple venues, and qualifying rounds involved with the final winners perhaps taking a trip to Memphis for IBC in Dec. of 2026. Not trying to be intentionally vague Details on how it’s all gonna roll are just still in the planning stages that’s all. Stay tuned!

While we might not be able to swing back up North and catch some of our DFW friends that used to play our stage up there this Christmas we are lucky enough to have some great friends that live here that used to come up and play Six Springs on occasion just a 15-20 min. drive from The Beat Farm. Please know we haven’t forgot about any of you and we miss you bunches. I’ve already been chatting with some spots that I used to work with way back before I made the move up to DFW. Our focus for now is getting the Beat Farm set up, hopefully by late spring, early summer so when I do start bringing our extended family down to include in events down this way we’ll have a home base established where we can have folks stay, and play too. I kept all the 8 camera and editing gear. We’ve been shooting already on the slow but starting to come together “Building The Beat Farm” so to speak roll we will edit together and as we move farther along some In The Kitchen with Brad-N-Keri and whomever musical travelers are passing through will of course be filmed because why not, and then of course some acoustic house concert action to round out each episode. We have very few neighbors out here, a fact which we love, all that we have met so far are super cool folks that are digging what we are planning and can invite friends and family to join us for some occasional Sunday afternoon more acoustic oriented house concert and a meal kinda deal. Have an Amazon Prime Membership? You can stream an indie film shot in it’s entirety at Six Springs Tavern a few years back. If you don’t have Prime, it’s like $3 to rent and stream. We don’t get a dime for any of it, we just helped out some friends with a shoot location. But they like all of us could use a few bucks in mailbox money I’m thinking.

Lil over three weeks with no power at the Beat Farm save starting up and burning fuel. Generator was under warranty thankfully but week one it was waiting on the over the phone diagnosis part to arrive. Which didn’t fix the problem. Weeks two and three it was sitting at their authorized repair shop the other side of Bandera waiting on them to get to it for the repair or replace diagnosis. But hallelujah today I got the word, shipping me a brand new replacement hopefully here by the weekend. Good thing the stove is propane so we could cook and warm things up when needed that way or by starting a running the motor home. But fridge doesn’t stay running long on solar/battery charge set up. So mostly heating up canned this or that on the stove, and a trip to town for ice daily. Really hasn’t been that bad actually. But the three weeks of no power to charge hand tools or ability to plug in power tools has been a bummer, so much more could have been accomplished. Macerator pump that will send everything to the biogas digestion tank should have already been up and running. Likely most of the framing for the kitchen and kitchen cabinets should have been done too. The final result of self sufficiency is going to be great, the trying to get it done while also being off grid at the same time and depending on the equipment to work is for sure a struggle. Especially a generator that we purchased new at the begging of Aug., that we really didn’t start using until the beginning of Oct. and only worked a couple weeks . Ahh well, back at it soon until the next issue pops up. Building The Beat Farm is going to be work, but the plan is to 99% it with our own four hands so every unfolding idea is ours to create. We’ll start shooting videos of individual projects as they get built and have a YouTube page up soon. This is going to be fun!

We’re hopefully at a point where we have enough initial roots here at the actual Beat Farm where we can start with the more permanent infrastructure. All of it is new to me in converting our life to more of an off grid existence. Just bunches and bunches of reading and researching it all. So figured I might start a You Tube channel as projects get built and tested. The trial and hopefully not to much error involved of it all. Just for posterity sake.

Just a couple weeks since our show @ Roddy Tree just outside of Kerrville. Was an amazing blend of San Antonio, Austin and Dallas Blues and Blues Rock from some Texas top of their game for a long time acts. Not gonna lie, not the level of attendance I expected. Met some great new friends though. Bunch of Kerrville natives rolling up on me saying it’s the best show they have been to in Kerrville in 20 years and they were embarrassed for Kerrville’s support of live music. Also had a bunch of folks rolling up and offering to partner with Beat Farm in spreading the word on future Kerrville area shows. All of which, amazing, A buzz on our first event is way cool. We definitely will look at working with Roddy Tree again in 2025. Meanwhile we have a great deal to do on The Beat Farm to get settled in. We are also hopefully embarking on some exciting stuff in tandem with San Antonio Blues Society in the new year. While this isn’t an official partnership show it’s on the Beat Farm recommended list as a preview of coming attractions you,should perhaps check out. Peace, Love, Live Music. Brad-N-Keri

Been a winding road with some adventures along the way, some downs but plenty of ups too so far in our journey. Today the Beat Farm Mobile is finally parked on Beat Farm soil! And for the last leg of the journey from Kerville to Bandera Keri took a turn behind the wheel of the beast. Time to get my ass to work! Now if it would just finally cool down below 90 degrees in November! There were days when I could work 14 hour days on commercial roof tops at 105 degrees crawl through attics at 130 degrees all day too. Those days are long gone. Can I get a high temp for the day round 70 please and thank you Mother Nature?

They last couple days have been beyond stressful and hectic on so many levels. And then the show starts. And it’s pretty much out of your hands and to the fate of the universal vibration of live music. Amazing day of music. Straight across the board. Of course it will take a few days to process fully. Thanks to the owners and staff of our great friends Roddy Tree Ranch and thanks for giving us a shot at putting together a show on your stage. We are new to the area as far as putting on shows. So almost all of the faces in the audience were new to us. Smiling faces, laughing faces, faces attached to dancing bodies. People coming up to us and introducing themselves, making us their new friends,faces of every color. Thanking us for putting the show together, saying how much they enjoyed the show. So very nice to meet all of you! If you would be so kind, please and like and follow Beat Farm Promotions. Saying they would spread the word, and we’d kindly take you up on it. That being said. A really big out the gate, I saw a whole bunch of flashes and the phone in video position. Pretty please do share to the Roddy Tree and Beat Farm pages. Keith and James, who’s in the music business pedigree individually have each far eclipsed my 25-30 years at it. I’m honored to on occasion be offered sage wisdom as a punk kid of 55. And some stuff we might look at differently. But they lent us their stage and said let’s see what happens. An amazing night of live music did in fact happen. And all of you helped make it happen! You’re part of something now. No take backs! I’ll keep putting on shows if they allow me to on occasion, but the way it works is tell a friend, bring a friend. When we decided to open Six Springs the overall (vibe) for lack of a better was based upon my absolute three favorite venues to go see live music. In Austin it’s Antone’s and Saxon Pub and in San Antonio at Sam’s Burger Joint. Well just got word this evening that Beat Farm will get to proudly present an occasional show hosted by Sam’s Burger Joint. And I’m pretty friggin excited about that!

Just got the news that Chris Duarte took a spill while biking. Broke his collar bone in four places, had a gash or two that required some staples, had to cancel a short Colorado run of shows but says he’ll be back at it by Septembers end. If that ain’t rock-n-roll bad ass I don’t know what is. Send those prayers and healing vibes his way folks. Just a little over 30 days til this shin dig we have coming up and you can come show the love in person.
