Been a winding road with some adventures along the way, some downs but plenty of ups too so far in our journey. Today the Beat Farm Mobile is finally parked on Beat Farm soil! And for the last leg of the journey from Kerville to Bandera Keri took a turn behind the wheel of the beast. Time to get my ass to work! Now if it would just finally cool down below 90 degrees in November! There were days when I could work 14 hour days on commercial roof tops at 105 degrees crawl through attics at 130 degrees all day too. Those days are long gone. Can I get a high temp for the day round 70 please and thank you Mother Nature?

So proud of Arizona traveling friends, loved having them play at Six Springs up in DFW. One of these days we’ll make it line up where we can get em in the new vicinity.

They last couple days have been beyond stressful and hectic on so many levels. And then the show starts. And it’s pretty much out of your hands and to the fate of the universal vibration of live music. Amazing day of music. Straight across the board. Of course it will take a few days to process fully. Thanks to the owners and staff of our great friends Roddy Tree Ranch and thanks for giving us a shot at putting together a show on your stage. We are new to the area as far as putting on shows. So almost all of the faces in the audience were new to us. Smiling faces, laughing faces, faces attached to dancing bodies. People coming up to us and introducing themselves, making us their new friends, faces of every color. Thanking us for putting the show together, saying how much they enjoyed the show. So very nice to meet all of you! If you would be so kind, please and like and follow Beat Farm Promotions. Saying they would spread the word, and we’d kindly take you up on it. That being said. A really big out the gate, I saw a whole bunch of flashes and the phone in video position. Pretty please do share to the Roddy Tree and Beat Farm pages. Keith and James, who’s in the music business pedigree individually have each far eclipsed my 25-30 years at it. I’m honored to on occasion be offered sage wisdom as a punk kid of 55. And some stuff we might look at differently. But they lent us their stage and said let’s see what happens. An amazing night of live music did in fact happen. And all of you helped make it happen! You’re part of something now. No take backs! I’ll keep putting on shows if they allow me to on occasion, but the way it works is tell a friend, bring a friend. It is a mutually beneficial relationship instantly. Thank you all so very much Brad-N-Keri

Under a month away! At the gate GA tickets will be $25 day of show which is already a bargain considering the line up. Buy in advance online saves you about $5 but I’m in a groovy mood today because the show is growing ever closer so I’m passing my good mood on. Click the ticket link and while they last I’ve released a block of tickets that’ll save you $10 vs pay at the gate. This is gonna be hella fun and an amazing day of music.

When we decided to open Six Springs the overall (vibe) for lack of a better was based upon my absolute three favorite venues to go see live music. In Austin it’s Antone’s and Saxon Pub and in San Antonio at Sam’s Burger Joint. Well just got word this evening that Beat Farm will get to proudly present an occasional show hosted by Sam’s Burger Joint. And I’m pretty friggin excited about that!

Just got the news that Chris Duarte took a spill while biking. Broke his collar bone in four places, had a gash or two that required some staples, had to cancel a short Colorado run of shows but says he’ll be back at it by Septembers end. If that ain’t rock-n-roll bad ass I don’t know what is. Send those prayers and healing vibes his way folks. Just a little over 30 days til this shin dig we have coming up and you can come show the love in person.

Who loves Texas Blues and Blues Rock!? We're very proud to be partnering up with San Antonio Blues Society for our show in October at Roddy Tree and hope to partner with them on many events in the future. As former live music venue owners we were right in the middle of the fight to keep the doors open and bounce back after Covid-19 and all the shut downs. Believe it or not we still are part of a lawsuit that will likely be in appeals limbo for eternity where we along with some other Texas venues sued TABC, Gov. Abbott and the State Of Texas. We did not go quietly! We outlasted it for a couple years after the attempted return to somewhat normal but unfortunately like so many venues across the planet it just got to a financial point where keeping the doors open with 1/3 if that of our usual audience sizes for shows pre Covid-19 while rent, utility and cost of good doubled and in some cases tripled the math just didn't math anymore. We had a good run, had a bunch of amazing shows, met a bunch of amazing friends both patrons and performers. Even won some awards. Keri and I are nothing but grateful to those that stuck in the fight beside us til the end. While we certainly needed the break from the perpetual ass kicking we've dealt with the last few years and still to some extent are. At the moment we're dealing with having to try and track down $ from a supposed reputable bar/restaurant equipment liquidator that loaded up a whole bunch of the equipment and now 4 months or so later we haven't seen a dime from and will send you money tomorrow turns into no response for a week, then repeat, repeat, repeat.. At this point we aren't surprised by anything anymore. At any rate our love of live music and supporting the musicians we love still is unwavering. The shows may not be as often, and the venues may vary, but we intend to keep at it in some capacity.
The bottom line is though, the only way out is fans out supporting bands, venues will continue to close unless the support of the bands does a serious 180 turn. And I'm talking buy the ticket fans! No going out to dinner with a cover band stuck off in the corner as background noise with no cover charge while you have a meal. No I know the band and I should be on the guest list. If you actually supported your friends in bands you should be buying two tickets and dragging someone along to the show with you. That's how a music scene thrives in my humble opinion anyway. So lets try something shall we? Share this post on Facebook "and" buy a single GA admission ticket at regular price, have to do both and I'll add a second GA ticket for the first 20 people to take me up on it. Fair enough?

Here recently with the ads and such running for the Oct. blues show in the Kerrville area I’ve been getting some email inquires from area bands about management and booking help. While greatly appreciated on the reach out at the moment anyway it just really isn’t in the scope of what we are doing since closing the venue. At some point we may expand into doing that type of service but not now. Our initial stages plan is to put together events with well established touring acts that we have established relationships and pair them with local established acts on our shows. Since closing the venue and relocating back to the hill country we are looking to do occasional bigger ticketed events in various venues. We just simply do not have the luxury of having a venue that we have 7 nights a week to give up and coming bands a try and see what happens. While we thoroughly enjoyed having that capability and I’d like to think we helped as best we could to have bands in that perhaps didn’t have much luck getting gigs anywhere else in DFW because they didn’t have an established fan base, we tried. Can’t even begin to count the bands that played their first show ever on any stage, on our stage. And some that we actually saw marked improvement every time they played our stage in fan base. For some unfortunately that just didn’t happen, it’s the nature of the beast with all this. So for the right now, right now we just really aren’t accepting unsolicited acts to consider adding to our roster that we manage or book. But never say never.
Best always,
Brad and Keri

That there day and time for $10 Early Bird tickets has come and gone unfortunately. GA tickets (standing room or bring a lawn chair) are $15 (with fees and taxes $21.25) $25 at gate day of show so still an opportunity to save a few bucks by buying in advance. Or VIP option, table for 4 right up front. No table more than 20 feet from the stage. (With taxes and fees right at $150, and sales on those are ticking up daily. Comes out to around $37 per person, for a 6 hour show featuring some of the best of the best in Texas Blues and Blues Rock. Just poking around other area venues with some of their contemporaries playing shows running the same tour circuit with just a headliner and an opener admission for 4 and a table $250 for a 2.5-3 hour show. Almost double the $ for half the show length. And! Not pay for parking vs ample free parking? And cabins and cottages on property that could make it a weekend out of the city getaway.

Show update! One of the most wonderful things about working with the caliber of musicians I’ve had the great pleasure of working with for so long is that if a scheduling conflict comes up these guys just call me up and provide their own replacements of equal caliber in their stead. Show always goes on!
Got an email this morning that Jim Suhler will unfortunately not be able to perform with Mike Morgan on Oct. 26th. For those not familiar with Jim Suhler, he’s been George Thorogood’s touring lead guitar player for the better part of 30 years and books shows with his own band when not touring somewhere around the world with George. The schedule was clear, until it wasn’t, and due to contractual obligations if George has a one off gig get booked then Jim catches a flight to wherever. Rock-N-Roll! A couple texts and a few hours later Shawn Pittman stepped in. Shawn along with Mike Morgan and Anson Funderburgh coincidentally just wrapped up a European tour together, and yes I did attempt the trifecta and try and add Anson to the bill as well but unfortunately he has a tour of his own scheduled. This one is going to be a night to remember! 5 more days of $10 early bird tickets.

7 days and a wake up left on $10 Early Bird ticket pricing. Now I know what you’re thinking, Oct. 26th is a long way away. I might need that $10 before then for a cup of Starbucks Coffee. So yes, it’s a gamble, maybe something will come up and you won’t be able to make it. Still better odds than even winning even your dollar back on a Texas Lotto $1 scratcher. You’ve already won the prize! All you have to do is show up and collect your winnings. 7 hours of some of the best Texas Born and Bred Blues/Rock all on one stage the same day.

Not sure if everyone caught the post but I’m doing early bird tickets through Aug. 15th. $10, with the ticket fees and taxes that I have no control over comes to $15.50. After that tickets are $18, with fees and taxes $24.75 or $25 pay at the gate day of show. Even at full price at the gate it’s gonna be a bargain in my opinion. Most of these guys are getting $15 or more on tickets with just an opening band. 6 acts for that price! Was kinda crazy actually, when I started out on this it was going to be three, maybe four bands, and then they started talking with one another and it grew. These guys have been playing with one another all around for decades but don’t get to do it often so I foresee some spontaneous jump up jams. Good times!
