So, anybody out there have a coin op classic (arcade days) sitting around collecting dust, or pin ball? Especially pin ball. This lil plant a seed project I’m working on might include such a thing. Not so much seeking to purchase. But maybe a case of if it’s just collecting dust and not getting played, park it at our spot. Retro, vintage kinda thing. Collect a few bucks.

Anyone out there remember The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar? I was too young for the original stuff @ The World Headquarters. I was around for the Opry House era. But remember how cool that was. In essence flea market meets music. Not the slick and polished thang that it’s become, can’t remember the last time I even went because of that very thing, kinda lost its soul for me. Cool concept still though.

So, for this evening anyway I leave with these thoughts. When humanity loses the bias that organized religious beliefs have instilled, indoctrination tactics all based upon unproven, and that’s across the board. Regardless of what organized religion you choose. Zero proven as the correct religion by anything other than just sheer numbers in followers as the basis of power on it. Convincing more people to believe in whatever bu****it you are peddling does not make your version correct, it just makes you a better snake oil salesman, getting low IQ folks to build you a mega church, buy you mansions, jets, whatever. Scripture (Christian Scripture) literally warns against supporting false prophets. But ya donate money, build these ass hat con artists mega churches, mansions and buy them jets and fleets of fancy cars. Belief in a higher power, no matter what that path looks like for you, should come with a price tag paid to the snake oil (for lack of a better, salesman). The connection is direct, doesn’t need a middle man that gets paid in the process. No need for mass assembly, read your Bible. Not ever have I attempted to call any bu****it on spirituality, but I’ll call bu****it on organized religion looking for a pay day every time.

Well, Bandera is getting a whopping dose of rainfall this morning. Keri Springs and I are well above any major flooding potential where we are but may be stuck unable to get to town until some of the low water crossings subside. Went in to work (I work at Dollar General now) at around 7 this morning and some light rain, no biggie. But since then the sky has kinda opened up and declared it is officially on. The employees who lived close by and had no threat of getting cut off from how stayed on (just happened to be truck delivery day) and others here in Bandera got cut loose to try and make it home while they still could. From what I understand the RV parks in town along the Medina River (unconfirmed) just sharing what a customer told me, are under a mandatory evacuation and shelter in place orders are being issued in all the surrounding communities. Crazy stuff! For us the greatest threat at the moment is running out of gas for the generator and not being able to get to anywhere to fill up with gas for a bit. But other than that, we’re good, no threat of us getting washed away where we are at. Hope everyone here in our newly adopted community is safe and out of harms way today. Doesn’t sound like the rain is letting up any time soon.

Ok Facebook land. Here’s what I’m cooking. Keri and I celebrate our Dozen Years Down wedding anniversary this Nov. 1st. She was reluctant at first given how it’s turned out thus far but we’re contemplating renewing our vows. What kinda spurred the whole thing was I just recently started wearing my wedding ring again because I’ve lost so much weight that it kept falling off, couldn’t get it resized because it was made of tungsten steel, not resizeable. Wore it on a chain around my neck the last year or so. So thought I had put enough meat on my bony fingers that it would stay on, it did not. We may still find it, but not likely, so time to purchase a new wedding band. To make it official “again” with a new ring/ceremony. Looking to put together a Six Springs Reunion of sorts show as part of that. Already reaching out to DFW area venues, and this would be where I reach out to the musicians that might want to be on the bill. Being a Six Springs reunion would make sense that you actually played at our place when we had it as a first prerequisite. Nov. 1st (that’s a Sunday) and thinking afternoon into early evening like maybe a 3pm to 8pm kinda deal. So who’s game and (know it’s a way off yet and things of course change) but available as well. Hit me up via email please so I can keep better track of it all [email protected]

Those were the days! Hard to believe all that was less than 3 years ago given what we’ve been through since, but here we are, perhaps a bit worn about the edges, but still trying to support what we love any way we can.

Man, just heard the sad news.
