One piece of advice that was given to me before my 1st wedding anniversary was to find something you can do every year together and make that your anniversary tradition.

Those words have stuck with me, and I often share them with couples in hopes that they create their own traditions!

Today, we celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary & 7th morning of eating cake for breakfast!

Shoutout to for this stunning celebration cake! Risteen is retiring next month, and we wish her all the very best!

As we get ready to celebrate in our home city of Bangor this weekend, we would just like to acknowledge that our company could not produce the level of work we do for clients without the support from our vendor partners across the state, many who identify as LGBTQ+ and contribute greatly to Maine’s wedding industry.

We acknowledge that today is not about BBQs or parades, and how difficult the day can be for the veteran community and their families.

We have been honored to work with several veterans over the years on creating a table of honor during their wedding celebrations recognizing those who are unable to join in the festivities. The significance of each element of The Fallen Solider Table is meaningful and special.

We hope that by sharing, the true spirit of the day is remembered and honored.

This day was created in 2017 as away to mark the “end” of engagement season as the months between November-February see the most engagements. However, it doesn’t matter when you got engaged or when you plan to get married the important thing to remember is you found someone worth celebrating life with- and that honestly should be celebrated every day! 🤍

Every couple has that one thing they want for their wedding. Some are pretty standard like to have guests feel relaxed…. Others are a bit more unusual like having a dress code that ensures not seeing guys leg hair (true story). For this couple, the lovely bride, Sarah only wanted to have her wedding on 7/11. Pretty easy right? We were set to officiate a small ceremony in Maine, then they were heading to Jamaica for a destination wedding. Well, #COVID. Using our industry connections we replanned Sarah & Adam’s wedding in record time to ensure she still got her date- all while balancing safety and a tone of celebration! We recognize that Black History is American History and that the liberation of Black Americans was not honored until nearly two and a half years later, and that even today, centuries later work remains. We vow to create a space for education, equity and support for all in the work that we do and within the our industry.
