Taking this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible women of Bar Harbor Catering Company. This year we will be celebrating 15 years of being in business (!!!) and while any pursuit of passion has its challenges, we've been beyond lucky to have our fearless and endlessly courageous leader Mandy Fountaine to guide us.

Our executive chef, Kristen Bradbury, was one of our first staff members and became the EC in 2022! Her beautiful work and fierce leadership allows us to flourish.

Tina Mckechnie has been working alongside Mandy since July 2022 and we are beyond excited to have her as the Executive Chef at Abels this year! Her passion and love, for her work and team, knows no bounds.

Women of Maine truly are a different breed—humble, selfless, determined, kind, loving, strong, talented... honestly the list is endless.

Happy Women's History Month!! We look forward to supporting all women of Maine as they continuously cultivate and contribute to the history of Maine.

Winter in Maine for an events business means a bit more time to explore and Kristen (our exec. chef) and I went to visit @PenobscotBayWeddings recently. It's a new waterfront venue in Winterport with views looking back at the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. The waterfront honeymoon suite is actually a cottage that's included with every rental - so cute and look at those views and that bathtub! Emerald (the owner) was super awesome and welcoming. After, we took a quick detour to try out @heysailorhey in Searsport with happy hour snacks, 90's tunes, and a mocktail. There's always more to explore in Maine and we try to keep up with the newest and best options for all our event clients.

What's it like to do an event on an island? It's pretty fun! Here's one of our weddings from 2019 (and how we got there).
