We love our Barbourville community! Last summer we scheduled several weeknight events that we thought would be of interest to our followers. We learned how to can. We had a presentation on safety, first aid and yes....even bee keeping. We made salsa, cookies, dumplings, etc. Let us hear from you Barbourville. SUMMER RENOVATION SALE: Our prices at the Swan House are dropping temporarily while we do some minor repairs on the building and lawn. So, take advantage of these lower prices for the next few months. We are working on repairs to part of the roof, replacing doors, increasing seating capacity, and adding a little beautification to the exterior.

FOR PARTIES: $75 to rent space (up to 3 hours) for baby showers, club meetings, gender reveals, birthday parties, business meetings, graduations, book clubs, Bible study, retirement parties, etc. This includes tables, tablecloths, chairs, an extra room for food setup, use of the kitchen, food warmers, coffee pots and drink dispensers, and.... we do all the cleanup. We have a piano, a gas fireplace (probably not a big deal in the summer :-) ), and a Bose system for soft music during your event . You can come in early to decorate for your party if you need a little extra time.

FOR WEDDINGS: We have a decorated chapel with beautiful hardwood floors, a reception room for up to 30 people, tables, chairs, white tablecloths, a bride's dressing room with a private bathroom, and a men's dressing room with 70-inch TV, dart board and recliners to help wile away some time while the Bride gets dressed. We have a firepit in the back yard, a huge holly tree that makes the perfect background for the wedding dress, and numerous other amenities. The venue can be used for rehearsal the night before the wedding, plus the day of the wedding and reception. The total price is $299. (This is only for a limited time.)

EXTRAS: We even have a selection of wedding dresses the bride can use FREE OF CHARGE if she desires. We also have stock bouquets and boutonnieres for use as well. If needed, we can also help with the minister and photographer if you need either, at no additional charge.

Cakes and catering options are also available for an additional fee.

Peggy's dream is to provide quality, intimate weddings, with exceptional customer service, for a price anyone can afford. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

(We still offer $99 walk in weddings for those who prefer courthouse style weddings. These include use of stock bouquets and boutonnieres if desired - and you leave with an SD card loaded with pictures of you special day).

Hello ladies. It is almost time for our next breakfast at The Swan House - Saturday, April 26 @ 9 am. We normally fill up pretty fast, so be sure to let us know if you plan to be with us. You can reply on this post, by private message, or by calling 546-0099. This will be a crafting day. Please bring a pair of scissors and a low temp glue gun - if you have one :-) If not...no stress...we can share. I have always loved hyacinths, so I thought we would make this little shelf accent. 2/21/2025 Update. We are still on for tomorrow morning ladies. The weather tried to cause us some issues, but we are going to "plow through" :-) It's gonna be cold, but the coffee will be good and hot. See you in the morning @ 9 am!

It's almost time ladies for another one of our breakfast meetings. Dr. Jordyne Carmack will be our guest speaker. Join us at 9 am on Saturday, February 22nd. We are hosting our Ladies Breakfast a week early this month, so you are invited to join us this Saturday, July 20th at 9 am. This will be a "crafting" day. Good afternoon ladies. It just dawned on me I had not reminded everyone that our Ladies Breakfast is this Saturday....February 24th @ 9 am. This month we will have a short devotional and then work on a Easter craft :-) You don't need to bring anything except your lovely selves. Just send me a note if you think you can make it. We will have our normal, full breakfast and enjoy each other's company.

Good morning ladies. I have two reminders for you this morning :-) The second session of THE ARMOR OF GOD starts tonight at 7 pm. If your weren't able to attend last week, we hope you can be with us tonight. I can set up in the reception room for more seating if needed (that would be most awesome). Also...this coming Saturday is our Prayer Breakfast. Susan Liford will be delighting us with her presence. Hello my friends. It has been too long since we have delved into a Bible study together. Thanks to Charlotte Mitchell, we are ready to get started again. Please join us at The Swan House Monday, November 6th at 7 pm for the first session (Sizing up the Enemy). Study guides are not required, but if you would like one, they should be available online. I look forward to our time together!

Good morning ladies. We have a breakfast coming up this Saturday morning @ 9 am. I am pleased to announce that Carla Gordon Bennett will be our speaker. She is currently the Student Success Coach and Recruiter with SECC, working to enhance the experience for current and prospective students. Bennett holds degrees in communication disorders, psychology, and educational counseling/guidance. Her work at Southeast entails immersive community outreach. She is committed to promoting self-advocacy, enhancing transition services, and working to support traditionally underserved populations. Carla and her husband, Rev. Bobby Bennett, have been married 32 years and have two children.
Tom and I met Carla last year at Walmart in Barbourville. She gave me some information on some of their certificate programs (I have always wanted to be a medical coder for some bizarre reason), but we wound up talking about a little bit of everything. She became a lifelong friend in about 10 minutes :-) I can't wait for her to share her story with us on Saturday. Please be sure to send me a message if you plan to attend.
