Obsesses with this stunning orchid plant, love LOVE the variation in the purple petals! This was sent for a find farewell, but is really suitable for any occasion. Orchids are surprisingly easy care, requiring bright indirect light and only moderate water. We bring our orchid plants outside for spring, summer and fall, letting them enjoy all the bright light and humidity on our covered porch. They can even tolerate occasional dips in temperature to 50ish, they're much less fussy than we think! Have you had success keeping your orchid blooming or reblooming?

Follow up from Tuesday's post, with the finished design - did you guess baseball or another sport theme?

I had never heard of the Milwaukee Braves, but learned they are the oldest operating franchise in professional sports. They eventually moved to Atlanta, but in the 1950s Wisconsin was the home base for the Braves. Ed Banach played for them there for six years in the 1950s, having attracted their attention during his high school ball career. He had many other interests after retiring from professional sports, but it was important to his family to acknowledge his love of baseball, and we were honored to be part of such a special tribute.

Santa came early to Rose Garden Florist, and brought us beautiful Govee lights that we can enjoy all year! Many thanks to Ed from Absolutely Dialed Pools in Ocean Acres for braving the frigid temps and installing these for us - he is an authorized and trained installer for Govee, and so knowledgeable about all the options. We're all super excited to explore the gazillion options when we have time to play!

The coolest thing about our vase recycle program, is sometimes we get some really fun containers that clients are ready to pass on to be reused. Milk glass is such a classic favorite, with renewed appreciation the past few years. I do love it with winter greens. No flowers, just ribbons, frosted pine cones and a touch of "snow".

Back to making more Christmas magic for tomorrow's deliveries!

This is not a fun post - this is serious and cranky, and blunt. . This ER nurse is in Michigan, this video has been shared on several reliable news platforms from her Instagram account. Michigan has about 2800 cases (( https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ )) and these #s are overwhelming their hospitals. NJ has almost 6900 cases, NY 39,000 - imagine our hospitals in similar circumstances, with someone you know, someone you love, or yourself. If you think our area, with it's low density population, is exempt, you're wrong. Supplies are running out here, too. . I hate not being able to have our shop open, I hate the phone ringing and having to say I'm sorry, no we are not delivering or open at the moment, even though there are "loopholes" in the governor's executive order that could be used to do so. I hate that my store is marked "temporarily closed" by Google. I hate not having my co-workers come to work and share gripes and laughter. I hate thinking there is something I should be doing, when really the best thing I can do, as a non-essential business owner, is...nothing. The best thing I can do is stay out of the way, stay off the road as much as possible, stay in my home, for those who can't. . I hate that so many things have changed personally - no cocktails with friends at the bar after work, no weekly family dinner, no kids visiting. I hate that my boyfriend has to go to work as a paramedic tomorrow night, that his daughter is a nursing student working at the hospital, that I have many friends who are first responders and health care providers, risking everything. Supplies are dwindling for them too, and as a civilian, it's terrifying to think about. I hate that i fall asleep with prayers running through my head for everyone I love to be safe. . I know this is a lot, but it all adds up to the same answer - please, stay home, wash your hands, stay well. Next post will be more positive, I promise. . #rosegardenfloristnj #floristlife #STAYT
