Gotta give credit where it's due π
Quick reminder to remember Dad this weekend for Father's Day! Amidst the hustle and hustle of June graduations and end of school year activities, it's easy to let this holiday slip by. We have lovely plants and garden floral arrangements, some fun gifts, cards and balloons. We can deliver Saturday, or you can pick up and deliver in person with a big squeezey hug for the best results!!
There is something about this combo, we make blues and whites almost every day and never get tired of it. Sometimes it's more vivid blue delphinium or bachelor buttons but more often it's this soft, variegated denim blue hydrangea with whites. So beachy, and perfect for any occasion or person.
What do you think of blue flowers yay or nay?
Congrats to seniors at Southern Regional graduating today - we wish you sunny skies ahead!
Summertime means loads of fresh NJ grown flowers. Our locally grown cut flowers are proof that we are still the Garden State.
This design was an upgraded version of our popular "Surf City Sunshine" and featured classic florist favorites : gerbera daisy, carnation, roses, alstromeria and chrysanthemums. Then we added NJ bupleurem (that delicate frothy greenish/yellow filler flower), lilies, feverfew(teeny white daisy), yarrow, and poppies. See the closeup of this amazing flower in the 3rd photo - tissuey petals with a buttony pod in the center, poppies are grown on singular curvy stems, very Dr Seuss like and not typical in our summer selection. We love all flowers but are so grateful to our growers who give us access to these extra FUN blooms!
Mini photo dump from this weekend and this week, just a few of the pretties we've been delivering. Can you spot the crab claw for someone's special birthday? π¦ππ¦ππ¦π
It's a great day to be Jean! Send us your Jeannes and Genes for their *free* flowers! As always, all spellings are accepted and this name will be up until closing Saturday!
Peonies are blooming in my garden, and the coolish temps mean they won't blow open overnight and be gone in 3 days. I've been watching them since mother's day, when they were just teeny buds. This variety (I don't know the name) starts out pale seashell pinkish, but opens to more white as it matures in the vase. I love watching flowers evolve on my kitchen counter π
What's blooming in your garden, and what are you cutting to enjoy inside?
It's a beautiful day to be DIANE! Send all your lovely Diannes our way for their *free* Dyann flowers! As always, any spelling is a devoted, and this name will be up until closing Saturday - see you sooooon!
It's a stunning day at the Jersey Shore - enjoy the weekend, put on some sunscreen and play outside!
In between spring events like mother's day, proms, communions and graduations, we also have wedding season. May and June are packed with occasions, and to provide our best service, we set limits and deadlines for ordering. Clutch bouquets for 6/1 are at capacity, but we still have the ability to offer boutonnieres and corsages ordered by this weekend. Thank you to our customers who understand, and ordered accordingly π
This lovely wedding was this past weekend, between raindrops in Beach Haven. Sunset shades of coral, peach, sage green, pale blue and ivory with pops of bright pink - peonies, mono garden roses, roses, ranunculus , delphinium, just delicious. They say rain is good luck and that a wet knot is hardest to untie - congratulations to Jill and Bill!
It's a beautiful day to be a Wendyyyyy! Send us your Wendy friends for their *free* flowers! Any spelling accepted, and this name will be up until Saturday...see you sooooon!

We're starting this new week with a new name - send us your Melissas for their *free* flowers. All spellings are welcome, and as always this name will be up until next week so no pressure to come in today.
My favorite thing about spring (besides finally seeing the SUN) is seeing the odd patches of flowers and greens popping up around the shop, that we can cut to use. Yesterday it was a single blooming vinca vine blossom(camera angle makes it look HUGE, it's only quarter sized), today it's fragrant purple phlox and forsythia. In a few weeks lilacs will be popping (I see the buds already) and then ivy will be back to it's spring green, instead of wintry rusty green.
What's your favorite part of spring?
Amazing macro photo of chickweed, which is popping up all over right now in everyone's yards and driveways. Seeing things in a different way makes for renewed appreciation of nature!
New name, DENISE! Tag your Denise friends, to stop in for their *free* flowers on this fine spring day. This name will be up till next week, so you have a few days to pop in, see you soon!
This made me laugh more than it should .
Roses do have thorns for a reason, primarily to protect themselves from predators. But I love the idea of thornless roses, even if Axl Rose is not amused π
EDIT: because I'm a terrible GenXer, apologies to both Axl Rose AND Bret Michaels, this is Bret Michels π EVERY ROSE HAS ITS THORNS
Did you know, common buttercup is a type of ranunculus? I don't see thia childhood favorite anymore, now that perfectly manicured lawns are more attainable than way back in the 1970s. I volunteer weekly at a feral cat farm where buttercups are abundantly blooming in the nearby fields, and throughout the cat farm.
If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity, they are always hoping for more people to help with feeding, watering, loving.
Photos attached of both ranunculuses, and some of my favorites from the farm today.
Happy Easter - may your be bright and filled with love! π°πͺ»π£π
Because it's Easter week and super busy, I was not able to attend the Thanking Vietnam veterans in Barnegat event at Barnegat High School this year. Each year the Cavagnaros surpass the previous with moving speakers, and I heard this year was no exception, with even more attendees and dignitaries participating.
We are very proud to be a small part of this event every year! π
Today is Vietnam War Veterans Day. We're so glad so many of you were able to join us at our event 2 days ago, celebrating you!
Here is a photo of our monument in Gazebo Park, after we placed the beautiful memorial wreath from the Rose Garden Florist there, after we had finished cleaning up at the school.
Welcome home!
Spring flowers, plants, hand made palm crosses....it must be Easter. It falls so early this year, but our NJ farmers got timing just right - lilies are blooming, tulips in perfect bud and fragrant hyacinths begging for a sniff as we walk by. Open Friday and Saturday till 4ish, see you soon!
Busy busy! In case you didn't realize, Easter is this Sunday 3/31 and we have lovely NJ grown tulips, hyacinths, lilies and hydrangea for everybunny on your Easter list π π°π£ We're open and delivering Friday and Saturday till 4ish if you'd like to stop by and pick something up.
I'll post some prettier pics tomorrow, but in the meantime, here is a little last minute delivery we made to Barnegat Rehabilitation & Nursing Center to spread some Easter cheer π₯° π°π

This is not a fun post - this is serious and cranky, and blunt. . This ER nurse is in Michigan, this video has been shared on several reliable news platforms from her Instagram account. Michigan has about 2800 cases (( https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ )) and these #s are overwhelming their hospitals. NJ has almost 6900 cases, NY 39,000 - imagine our hospitals in similar circumstances, with someone you know, someone you love, or yourself. If you think our area, with it's low density population, is exempt, you're wrong. Supplies are running out here, too. . I hate not being able to have our shop open, I hate the phone ringing and having to say I'm sorry, no we are not delivering or open at the moment, even though there are "loopholes" in the governor's executive order that could be used to do so. I hate that my store is marked "temporarily closed" by Google. I hate not having my co-workers come to work and share gripes and laughter. I hate thinking there is something I should be doing, when really the best thing I can do, as a non-essential business owner, is...nothing. The best thing I can do is stay out of the way, stay off the road as much as possible, stay in my home, for those who can't. . I hate that so many things have changed personally - no cocktails with friends at the bar after work, no weekly family dinner, no kids visiting. I hate that my boyfriend has to go to work as a paramedic tomorrow night, that his daughter is a nursing student working at the hospital, that I have many friends who are first responders and health care providers, risking everything. Supplies are dwindling for them too, and as a civilian, it's terrifying to think about. I hate that i fall asleep with prayers running through my head for everyone I love to be safe. . I know this is a lot, but it all adds up to the same answer - please, stay home, wash your hands, stay well. Next post will be more positive, I promise. . #rosegardenfloristnj #floristlife #STAYT

Around 4 every day, they get a little antsy pantsy and start entertaining themselves. I'm probably the kind of mom that'd let my kid play with dry cleaner bags.....in traffic. #ImAWalkingPSA #NoOneDiedIPromise

This was before we discovered Scrumpy was a girl - "he" became "she" when she was 15 years old, and we found her sitting on an egg lol. She was always quick o give kisses and chatters, and loved to snuggle.
