Caladium Pre Order!

These tropical plants will not be ready for pick up until around June 1st (maybe the last week of May), I am only offering 15 of each variety to start off, so get in touch ASAP if you’d like me to save some for you. I have numbered each variety 1-10 on the photos, to make it easier to communicate about which variety you would like. Below I will go into detail regarding each variety of Caladium I have available, pictured 1-10. These are gorgeous in containers, as a houseplant or absolutely striking in the garden. A real eye catcher, with little to no maintenance required.

———————————————————

#1. Moonlight —

A sun tolerant caladium with medium height and medium sized leaves. Features delicate white leaves with green veining.

#2. Candidum —

A large leaved caladium with tall stems, this delicate looking yet dependable foliage plant is the perfect addition to any shade garden.

#3. Pearl Blush —

A sun tolerant, dwarf or ‘strap leaf’ caladium, with larger leaves than your standard strap leaf varieties. This plant opens up with a ‘pink flush all over the young leaves and turns white as it gains size and maturity’, still keeping the rosy pink in the heart of the plant.

#4. Florida Fantasy —

This is labeled as a medium sized caladium, with medium height and a medium leaf shape, compared to the dwarf or large leaf varieties. This variety is versatile and can handle full sun or full shade.

#5. Strawberry Star —

This is noted as a ‘vigorous producer’ of stems, and performs well in full sun or shade. Perfect for containers or beds.

#6. White Queen —

Large plants with large leaves, this striking caladium tolerates full sun.

#7. Gingerland —

This is a medium sized plant with lanced leaves and dramatic coloring. This variety can handle full sun.

#8. Carolyn Whorton —

A taller, large leaved caladium with decent sun tolerance. A striking combination of pink leaves, dark pink veins and a dark green edge.

#9. Spring Fling —

A large leaved, tall growing caladium with translucent pink foliage and dark, almost black veins and stems. Full sun tolerance.

#10. Miss Muffet —

A short, dwarf sized caladium with smaller, light lime green leaves and a unique speckled look. Prefers shade, can handle some sun.

This exotic looking annual flower blooms consistently from early summer through the fall, and doesn’t require deadheading. They prefer sun with some shade, but can handle the extreme heat/humidity of the summer months well, pushing out blooms until the fall. Perfect for containers, the tropical colors of this ‘Kauai’ mix would compliment any outdoor setting. I do not know which color each plant is until they bloom, it is a mixed seed variety so they could be any one of the colors shown. If you’d like to wait to purchase specific colors when they are fully in bloom, I’d be happy to make a note and save whichever colors you’d like.

$4/plant- Taking PRE ORDERS for these, just shoot me a message or comment and I will save your name and however many you’d like. They will be ready for pick up at your convenience, beginning May 9th. I’ll save yours and reach out to arrange a no contact pick up.

Grateful for the friends that reached out to me to design something special for their loved ones this Valentines Day! This particular bouquet was going out for delivery to a friends mom, whose birthday falls on Valentine’s Day. It may sound cheesy but it was made with love, as I rearranged it a bunch of times to get each stem to sit just right. A dozen roses is classic, but something like this takes a bit more time and attention to detail.. and I hope that shows! 🌟 .

Being the off season, these blooms were bought wholesale and likely all imported from afar. Which does make this all possible for me and other floriculture professionals during the off season.. BUT is far from sustainable — environmentally and economically. Making YOUR support of locally grown flowers a real and significant step in the direction of climate change mitigation and reduction of carbon emissions. This will be my first season growing a business from the ground up, as a cut flower grower and floral designer. With seeds beginning to sprout under my grow lights as we speak, the countdown begins until I am designing entirely with stems I’ve grown myself, from seed. I’ve spent months compiling seeds, all my favorite shades and varieties of each specialty cut flower available on the market. With hard work and the support of my family, in a few short months we will be swimming in blooms grown right here on Cape Cod. Comment or DM me if you’d like join our email list! Be the first to hear about what we will be offering this season, receive early bird specials & other exciting news! 👩🏼‍🌾✨ . . . . .

Very little effort went into my home gardens this past season, but the plants decided to reward us anyway! I’m almost ashamed to admit I popped a few dahlia tubers I was gifted into my beds and didn’t even stake them.. 😟 So harvesting this abundance of blooms was such a gift! What I thought would be a bouquet of the few stragglers left quickly became one of my favorites thus far, so of course I had to take a selfie 🤣🌸🎉

Peony roots are being ordered this week, to be planted early November! Truth be told, these jaw-dropping beauties take 4😳 whole years before they grow into a full production size. The wait will be grueling, but SO worth it. These fly off the shelves during wedding season, and are cherished by gardeners & flower lovers. Knowing ours won’t be ready, I will be looking to source local peony stems for our early summer bouquet subscription! DM me for details & to join the email list for my weekly (or bi weekly) floral arrangement deliveries beginning May 2020! ✨ •
