We had the honor of coordinating the wedding ceremony for The Smiths, and what a way to wrap up the year! With a wedding party of 59 (yes, 59!) surrounding them, their day was filled with love, laughter, and community in the truest sense.

Yesterday, our owner and lead event planner, for It's Your Day, shared her personal story about why October is special and why she wears pink.

⬇️

WHY I WEAR PINK:

October is always personal for me. Sixteen years ago, I rang the bell on October 1st, celebrating my last day of chemotherapy at West Cancer Center. I wear pink not just for myself as a survivor, but in memory of my grandmother who lost her battle, and in support of my dear friend, who was recently diagnosed.

And, did I mention that October is also my birthday month (October 3)? I feel so very fortunate that early detection, a great treatment plan and of course blessings from God has allowed me to enjoy these last 16 years.

Here’s to hope, healing, and honoring every warrior touched by breast cancer.
