About us
RDC is a group of locals who love dance and want to bring performances to the Midcoast community. Our goal is to hold classes that teach adults dance technique, offer performance opportunities to artists, and eventually pay dancers for their work. RDC mainly focuses on contemporary ballet, a genre of dance that has exploded in the past decade in the US.

I’ve been working a lot of shows lately, and many new performers and children haven’t learned the basics yet. I wanted to share this for anyone with a young performer in their life - teach them how to act backstage and they’ll be so wonderful to work with. I’ve been working with a lot of children and theater newbies lately! While rules can be stuffy and old fashioned, some are designed to make a theater performance run smoothly. Whether it’s ballet, musical theater, a concert or puppet show, these “bylaws” make the show experience better for paying audience members. Even if you’re a seasoned vet, the reminder can be so helpful. I personally struggle to keep quiet backstage and I’m always reminding myself of these rules.
