Meet Smarlensly Alténor, our Yan in Becoming Santa Claus.

Smarlensly Alténor is a soprano originating from Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Under the guidance of the fabulous Dr. Loraine Sims, she has recently graduated from Louisiana State University with her Bachelor of Music in May of 2024. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Science at LSU where she will graduate May of 2025 and continue studying under Dr. Loraine Sims.

She has recently performed as “Giannetta” in LSU Turner Fischer’s production of L’Elisir d’amore. She has performed many roles such as “Adela” in LSU Turner Fischer’s Collegiate premier of La Casa de Bernada Alba, “Monica” in The Medium, “Angelina” in Trial by Jury, “Despina” in Cosi Fan Tutte, and many more.

Smarlensly has also enjoyed her role as stage manager of many productions and as the assistant stage manager for Opéra Louisiane’s productions of A Christmas Spider and The Barber of Seville. Opéra Louisiane is where she made her professional debut, and she is ecstatic to be back on their stage!
