The mission of SportsBR is to attract, secure, welcome and facilitate athletic competitions and special events of to our area in order to produce a positive economic impact on our community and to improve the overall quality of life through the industry of sport. Our organization serves as a liaison between governing bodies, event organizers, and event rights holders and local facility owners, ven

dors, hotels, and other infrastructure in order to bring all parties together to effectively and efficiently host events in Baton Rouge. We also serve as an information center for the public and media regarding sporting events and contacts throughout the area. SportsBR strives to continually develop the sports industry in our region and look to utilize the industry of sport to improve quality of life and promote health and wellness to all citizens of our community.

Our Story

Since 1994, SportsBR has collaborated with community partners and sponsors to generate more than $30 million of estimated economic impact annually for the Baton Rouge area. We do so by securing and hosting a wide range of sports events at any level in just about any sport. We also partner to produce a number of events that draw competitors from across the country, including the Mardi Gras Mambo 10k/15k, Tiger 10k and the Battlefield Cross Country Festival. And SportsBR works closely with our sports coordinators and community leaders to leverage our event assets to bring people together from around our area through sports activities and events.
