Coldest wedding I've shot in yearssss but man was it a fun one. I always feel honored when a couple chooses me to shoot their wedding but when it's a family that has time and time again chosen me as their photographer for various events--man, there are no words. I truly feel apart of this crew and I'm so thankful.

Minimal timeline, minimal direction. These two are actors and they kept asking—“so what should we do?” They we’re used to direction.

I stayed silent a lot of the time and encouraged them to embrace that awkward feeling. Awkward because a lot time it’s a couples first time allowing themselves to be documented. Not only themselves but the energy and love between them.

It’s not easy to do. But when you let go of the fear and insecurity, embrace the awkward feelings that come and go, and let your guard down—you get magical moments like this.

In all honesty, I told them to “walk away” or “walk towards me” in a few photos and that was it. The sweet intimate moments—that was all them.

This was such an honor to be a part of.

A few of my favorite frames from Ian + MJ’s day have to do with her grandparents.

Grandma waving off tears after seeing MJ fully dressed, grandpa cheering and hugging MJ as she greeted him in the living room, grandma giggling at grandpa as he wipes away tears during the couple portraits, having the most fun on the dance floor.

The love they have over their grandchildren and over for each other is incredibly evident. Me, a stranger to them, picked up on it immediately. What a treasure.

We as photographers (and videographers) have such an incredibly unique perspective. No other vendor gets to see these moments. I realized that more clearly as I was standing in her grandparents house where she chose to get ready. The moments that have happened in that place…and I was able to be a part of another one. How special 💕🥺

I am honestly so blessed to have so many cool moms in my life, near and far. My farmer friend Stevie as I so endearingly refer to her as is one of them. I met on Instagram. Over the past few years I’ve witnessed her parent and farm from afar in complete awe.

So you can my excitement when she hired me to come photograph her homestead for an afternoon. The way her and Jeff parent and love the land around them is incredibly inspiring.

Everything has so much intention and love poured into it. From Stevie being the kindest host down to watching Jeff build paper airplane after paper airplane. Oh the love is rich. There are so many images I could put on this post but here are 11 favorites. ⭐️ 🪴 👩‍🌾 🐄

Dang I’m proud of this. This has been a loooong time coming but we here. I hired .cosma because of the site she did for . Kat’s work feels tangible and magnetic like she says. I feel so drawn to every site she creates.

She was patient and kind during the entire process. I’m not an easy client and I’m aware🥴. I like things a certain way especially since I have a design background, but dang it was hard to nail down a vision when I like so many things.

I think we found the perfect balance. Thanks .cosma for your patience and kindness during this process. What a journey🤣🙏🏼✨

Sometimes all you can do in the face of disappointment is boogie with your boo. 💃🕺

We’ve heard it and said it hundreds of times, 2020 has been one punch after another. In my little corner of the world, it’s been incredibly sad and hard to watch so many of my sweet couples navigate not only their lives in the midst of COVID but an event that they’ve hoped and dreamed of for so long go totally different than planned.

Haley and Phil were no exception. They downsized due to restrictions and on top of that a hurricane rolled through the week of their wedding New Orleans knocking out power to their venue.

But Sam with and made whole party so beautiful by overloading the space with candles. It created such an intimate, warm space during a time that hasn’t quite been that. 🧡💛🤍

I call this series “a walk in a Texas field”. Starring a handsome groom, a pitiful farm pup, a joyful barefoot bride, a breezy veil, and some lovely Texas light. ☀️ This was only my third Texas wedding to photograph as it’s one of my faves. The light just hits different in Texas. 💛🧡

In-home sessions are a fave for families or couples. Here’s a few reasons why I always advocate for an in-home session:

⭐️ Your emotional walls are down. You’re in the place you laugh and cry the most. There are memories there that no other space can have.

⭐️ Nobody has YOUR home. Therefore your session is unique to you! It’s not an overused location that everyone can share.

⭐️In home sessions tend to make clients realize just how special their space is. I’ve had sessions where the clients warn me before saying “my home isn’t Pinterest worthy”...I always giggle at that because honestly it doesn’t matter. I come in and capture YOU in YOUR love and all that concern falls to the side.
