Everything in this design was grown on site. I love using garden fresh flowers in our work. Not everyone is as fortunate to have that ability. Love these delicate, but long lasting lisiantus blooms.

Beautiful Cardinal Basil! The smell is wonderful and it is so pretty to look at. Works well in cut floral arrangements.

Good morning everyone! We still have lots of delicious apples available. Still picking some different varieties as they ripen. Two that I will talk about today are the Baker's delight and the Rubinette. The first is considered to be a excellent dessert apple. It has hints of honey, cinnamon, and vanilla flavors. It is soooo good! Next is the Rubinette. This one is a cross between yellow delicious and Cox orange pippin. It is also very delicious! Come check them out. This is a great time to make pies and sauces with them. It's always a good time to eat fresh apples too!!!! Feel free to call or stop in with any questions or requests. See you soon!

Hi everyone, this is Renee. Richards account got compromised and he is now starting from scratch. So if anything questionable appears it is not him. What a pain, took the better part of the day trying to straighten things out.

We hope you give them a try. We have approximately 30 different varieties of apples. Today we have about 18 available. We have been sampling all of them and haven't found one that we didn't like!!! Our hardy mum's are in and Boy!, are they beautiful. The large ones in the 14" pots are probably 3 foot across. Lovely for a front or back porch, or near an entryway. They also make very nice gift to send for an expression of sympathy. The 9" pots are also very nice, just a bit smaller. All where hand picked by yours truly.

I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
My sister was here at the flower shop and we were standing inside the store by the side door looking out at the orchard when I see someone walking across the parking lot crossing into the orchard. He walks by this tree and grabs a low lying branch and hatefully rips an apple off the tree and just whips it on the ground. I was in disbelief. Renee said that was the same guy that came in before looking for money. My sister got in the car and followed him to see where he was going. He apparently lives at the motel across M-15. That motel has a lot of questionable people living there. I thought the deer and rabbits were enough to deal with, now this? It never ends does it?

Fresh cut, home grown sunflower's. The variety is Sunbright Supreme.

We start our first crop in the middle of June so that they're ready when we come back from vacation in August. We then sow them for 8 consecutive weeks so we have them going into October. If you get an arrangement from us with sunflowers in it during this time, you can be assured it came fresh from our garden.

Believe it or not, the sunflowers on the right side do open up when cut that tight if not tighter. We cut them at different stages so they're not all blooming at the same time, and on the tight side to avoid insect damage as well.

If my dad was still alive, he would be so excited about this little orchard we developed. He had his own apple trees in his yard next the to flower shop. He was pretty knowledgeable, and I'm sure he could give me some advice. I am proud have his legacy live on. Hope I can do him justice.

The name is Ruby Darling. I can't believe the size of some of these apples. It is a cross between a Honeycrisp and a Gala. I have supports all over these branches so they don't break. Supposedly ripe in early October, but I'm thinking way earlier then that the way they look now. Can't wait.

After 4 years, our first decent crop. 12 beautiful, fragrant, and I'm sure tasty nectarines. I call it a success.

So, what does a person do when it's a real real slow day at work??? The dirty work. Richard tried to get me (Renee) on the ladder, but I wouldn't fall for his scheme. The darn spiders and cobwebs from the light at night really makes a mess on the building. Richard couldn't stand it any longer. It will look so much better when he's through. He's quite the guy.

This is the first ripe berries of the Lychee tomato that we grew this year. It is suppose to taste like a cherry. We will see. The berry comes out of a husk like a tomatillo. There are big thorns all over the stem of the plants that make them very intimidating. One thing that is not intimidated are the beetles. They are all over the plant chewing away. It's hard to squash them because of all the thorns around the fruit, and up and down the stems. Probably won't grow them again unless they taste spectacular. We'll let you know.

It's officially vacation time at Country Garden Flowers. Time to chill out, release the stress, and enjoy all the good Lord has given to us. No definite plans, but I wouldn't rule out Upper Peninsula. See you August 2nd.

This sweet cherry tree of ours is 4 years old. It was loaded with beautiful red cherries that were almost ready to pick . When I came in to work today, the tree was totally stripped of every one! No, it wasn't birds. They usually only eat partial pieces. Not a one even in the ground. They would of had to have a ladder as some of them were pretty high up. I am so very disappointed in what we have around in our neighborhood. All the hard work for nothing. Am I going to have to fence the whole yard now? What a bunch of losers.

We still have some beautiful geraniums available for your last minute fill ins. Usually by this time they look a little tired, but this year's crop in my humble opinion (and I do mean humble) is just over the top. See you soon

We will be open for a few hours Sunday, May 8th for your last minute Mother's Day gifts. Open Sunday 10-1:00pm, longer if need be.

05/04/2022

We will have a lot of plants to choose from for Mother's Day. We will have a little of everything out in front of the store by Thursday and Friday. Right now we're just protecting them from the wind and rain by leaving them in the greenhouse to continue to grow. We want your gift to look perfect, that's why.
