circa 1913, Old BSL, MS, strongly weathered all hurricanes and storms, and provided news-worthy refuge to an interesting mix of folks. This distinguished survivor is listed on the National Historic Register and the Mississippi Historic Register as 1 of only 5 existing schoolhouses of its kind and for how it was constructed.
