This wonderful team handed out the last of 3 checks today raised from the Firefighters and therapy dogs calendar. The check today was provided to Stephanie Julazadeh of the South Carolina Burned Children's Fund in the amount of $2,725.
Inspired by the rapport between the firefighters and therapy dogs, Rebecca W. Bass, Broker-in-Charge of SeaBass Properties, conceived the idea of creating a 20-month calendar, featuring local firefighters and therapy dogs as models. Each month showcases a beautifully composed photograph of a firefighter, a therapy dog, and a fire truck, symbolizing the strength, courage, and compassion of our community’s first responders.
Rebecca presented the idea to Ross Vezin, Deputy Fire Chief, who, recognizing the potential impact of the project, enthusiastically sought and obtained approval to proceed from the Fire Chief. The calendar is not only a tribute to these local human and canine heroes but also a way to support three important charities: Beaufort County Animal Services, the Child Abuse Prevention Association (CAPA), and the SC Burned Children’s Fund.
Rebecca’s photography has been featured as The Parting Shot in several issues of Local Life magazine as well as Dude, Camera in the Wild, Alliance of Therapy Dogs Magazine, and the Beauty of Beaufort book. She conducted four photo shoots at diverse locations around the Beaufort/Port Royal area and has donated her photographs to this project.
Rebecca then recruited her friend, Rita Wilson, the owner of AlphaGraphics, to provide design and printing services at cost.
In total over $8000 was raised!
