The Pin-Up Girls are a quartet of female singers who often entertain at their local VFW Post. In preparation for a final appearance (the Post is set to close), the ladies discover a trove of letters -– funny, romantic and heartbreaking - written by and to service members over a century of wars from World War I to Afghanistan. Inspired by what they found, they put together a show that combines music of the individual eras with reading out of some of the letters, all celebrating the guys and gals who defend our country. Unfortunately, one of the ladies is not available, so the brother of the leader steps in to help. Veterans and family members alike will remember many of the 26 standards sung by the quartet such as Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning, Grand Old Flag, Ain’t She Sweet, These Boots Were Made for Walkin and Please Mr. Postman. A live band accompanies the singers.
The Pin-Up Girls are a quartet of ladies who entertain through song at the local VFW Post. While preparing for a show, they discover a stash of letters from, and to, service members involved in over a century of wars from World War I to Afghanistan. Struck by the poignancy of many of the letters, they develop a show mingling the music of the various eras with the reading of some of the letters backed by a live band!
