Today is a big day for cinema in Southeast Texas (and the Boomtown film festival) as the Jefferson Theatre inaugurates its massive new 4K laser projector! Movies at the Jeff will now be bigger, brighter and sharper than before thanks to this long awaited upgrade that's been years in the works.

Beaumont's movie palace also installed a superior screen, made improvements to the sound system, and gained the ability to exhibit Digital Cinema Packages, which includes first run films that are shown at the multiplex.

There's no better month than October to rediscover movies at the Jeff with their "13 Nights of Halloween" horror series. You can also enjoy the upgrade at any of their regular Classic Movie Nights, and in February when the historic Jefferson Theatre once again plays centerpiece venue to the Boomtown Film & Music Festival!

Y’all know what, I like Raygun, the Aussie Olympic break dancer. She has fun dancing, and that’s pretty awesome. Nah, she ain’t the best, but she got to do something she loves at the Olympics, can’t be mad at someone for that. And her names Raygun. That’s a pretty dope sobriquet. All Y’all haters just jelly.

Here is a look at one of the amazing people bringing you tonight's production of Witch

Hilary Foyil is a native of Silsbee Texas, and has been doing theatre all her life. Some of her favorite credits include Macbeth, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, and Batboy: The Musical. This is her first show with Ad Hoc Beaumont, but hopefully not her last! When not in the theatre, you can find her teaching Graphic Design, Yearbook, and Theatre at Kountze High School.

Jamie grew up in D'Hanis, Texas. In 2020, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School for Classical and Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University. While at TCU, Jamie performed in many works by faculty and guest artists, as well as choreographed multiple works for student productions. She recently (last week!!) graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch with a Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. She is grateful to be back in the theater.

Katherine Leister is a Beaumont native and has previously appeared in August: Osage County and Twelfth Night at Beaumont Community Players and in The Miracle Worker and Eurydice at West Brook Senior High School. This is Katherine’s first show with Ad Hoc Beaumont. Off the stage, you can find Katherine at the Tyrrell Historical Library, where she works as the assistant archivist.

Ad Hoc Beaumont is so excited to welcome back Cole Wimpee. Cole was born in Rockwall, Texas. He has won a Kennedy Center Award for Best Director of a Hip Hop Musical called "Island Trap: The Epic Remixology of the Odyssey", and has performed with Ad Hoc in My Aim is True (2011) and Butcher Holler Here We Come (2014).

We are so excited to welcome Zach Dailey (he/they) to Ad Hoc! Zach is an Instructor of Humanities at Lamar Institute of Technology. He directed Ad Hoc Beaumont’s last show, “For a Limited Time Only.” Originally from San Antonio, he recently received his PhD in Theatre and Interdisciplinary Fine Arts at Texas Tech University. He is an active researcher and published scholar. Both Frank and WITCH will hold a special place in his heart.
