💗 Why We Don’t Offer Valentine’s Day Flowers 💗

One of the biggest flower holidays of the year falls right in the middle of winter—when fresh, locally grown flowers are simply out of season. While it’s tempting to join in on the Valentine’s Day rush, we choose not to offer flowers during this time for a few important reasons:

💕 Locally Grown Only – Every flower we sell is grown right here in Dayton, Ohio. We’re committed to providing blooms that are truly fresh and never imported.

❣️ Quality Matters – Many imported flowers are treated with heavy pesticides and chemicals. We believe flowers should be safe to handle and enjoy, without harmful residues.

💞 Ethical Sourcing – The majority of imported flowers come from farms that rely on low wages and poor working conditions. We don’t want to support an industry that doesn’t align with our values.

🌸 Longer Vase Life – Our flowers are harvested at peak freshness, ensuring they last longer in your home. By contrast, many imported blooms spend days in transit and barely make it through the week.

💖 Supporting American Farmers – We believe in the power of buying local and strengthening our own communities rather than relying on mass imports.

💘 Honoring the Seasons – Winter is nature’s time to rest, and we embrace that rhythm instead of forcing out-of-season blooms. Just like fresh peaches and tomatoes taste best in summer, flowers are at their most beautiful when grown in their proper season.

As much as I miss flowers during this time, waiting makes their return in spring even sweeter! Hi, remember me? I'm slowly coming out of winter hibernation, and kicking off the 2025 season with some exciting news:

Yep, you guessed it: TULIPS. 🌷 Oceans of them. I might've gone a little overboard. (I've got 30 more crates not pictured.)

My 4-week Tulip CSA is open, and if you love fancy, ruffled, fluffy, double-blooming tulips you can’t find at the grocery store—this is for you. Treat yourself this spring! Spots are very limited, so don't snooze on this.

The field is looking pretty different from a few months ago! Swipe for a good before and after.
While the ground rests and the cool flowers take root, lots of action is happening behind the scenes — the scramble to get everything winterized, planting fall bulbs and perennials, prepping & planning for next spring. Enjoying each season while it lasts 🍂

After another fun pumpkin workshop yesterday, it’s a WRAP on the 2024 season.
My first year flower farming was full of learning, beautiful flowers, stress, and fun!

Thanks a million to all the friends, family, and new faces that have shown me support this summer, it means everything 🥹. Thank you to 2nd Street Market and Coffee Hub Ohio for hosting me!

The remainder of fall and winter will be a time to rest and prepare the garden for next year! Lots of exciting things planned for Spring 2025 (hint: tulips galore 🌷), so stay tuned!

Came home after a week out of town to these friends! The cosmos, zinnias, and dahlias all flushed while I was out.
I never know if I’m going to come back to a field burned to the ground or munched away by pests so this was a pleasant surprise 😌

There’s still a bit of life left in the 2024 season!

Realized I’ve never introduced myself, so here goes!

Hi, I’m Casey 👋🏽
Some quick facts about me:

🌸 I love being active outdoors, travel, all things international, art, interior design, and of course, flowers!
🌸 I live with my husband Mike and our wiener dog, Moose and cat (Luna) in an 1850 farmhouse we are *slowly* renovating. (Moose and Luna mostly just watch). All flowers are grown right here in my backyard!
🌸 I’m a pediatric RN in my day job 🩺
🌸 Things I can’t resist: a quiet evening walk, any fluffy/furry creature, watching The Office (again), & a good lamb biryani 🤤

My hope is to share joy and delight through the simple and ephemeral beauty of flowers. Thank you for being here and supporting me!

This cooler weather we’ve been having the past few days has felt absolutely GLORIOUS, hasn’t it? It’s made working in the garden a dream this week. Doesn’t look like it’s going to last, so enjoying it while I can!

I’m happy to be back at 2nd Street Market this Saturday after a few weeks off! The celosia is all the rage right now, and will look so beautiful in your mixed bouquets. The dahlias are trickling in too, so look for a few of them tucked into the mix.

You won’t find any of these flowers in your grocery store bouquet! Locally grown, sustainably sourced flowers are where it’s at 🤌🏽

Happy Wednesday! I have a few important updates for everyone:

- I won’t be at 2nd Street Market this Saturday, as I will be out of town.

- Additionally, my pop-up stand at Coffee Hub Beavercreek will no longer be available this summer. I am incredibly grateful to Coffee Hub for hosting me and for providing a platform to connect with all of you. I will still be at 2nd Street Market every other Saturday until the season ends. 💛

With that being said, my flower availability has hugely opened up! If you have any special events or occasions coming up (or just because) please feel free to reach out for your floral needs. I’d love to work with you!
