Labor Day Hours:
We are open this week Monday thru Friday 9-5. (No evening hours this Thursday).
We will be closed on Saturday, Aug 31, Sunday, Sept 1, and Monday, Sept 2 in observance of Labor Day Weekend.
We will reopen on Tuesday, September 3 (at which time we will be transitioned to our Fall gift inventory). 🍂🌾🎃
This adorable little “String of Turtles” just made its way into the store s-l-o-w-l-y, which is why he’s our Foliage Friday this week (and the reason our post comes to you a little late today).
As we prepare for summer to come to an end, this little guy is a reminder to slow down, know when to stick your neck out, always stay comfortable in your own shell, find your way back to the beach (or wherever brings you happiness), and know that even when life gets a little salty, it’s still beautiful.

We are beyond proud to introduce our new Work-Based Learning Student for the 2024/2025 school year, Darby McKimmy.
Darby is a senior at Beaverton Jr/Sr High School. She brings a diverse skillset to us from her experience at The Sweet B Cafe and at McKimmy Ag Services. She is highly involved in many volunteer groups and has been a competitive dancer for 11 years and is a member of the Business Professionals of America.
The Sugarbeet tagline “Memorable*Unique*Especially Sweet” just became a little more true today.

Our Gladwin County Fair auction is the culmination of hard work and dedication by many young 4-H entrepreneurs. They have invested their passion, time and energy into their projects. This week, these kids have learned a great deal about professionalism, self-pride, and profitability while displaying and selling their livestock and other projects. What a great honor to be invited to be part of this process.
We wish we could have responded to each and every auction invitation we received. We wish we could have bid on every project each of our 4-H favorites sold. We wish we would have won every bid we attempted to buy. You can’t win them all but we are sure glad a couple went our way. We walked away with the most amazing (and delicious) cherry pie, and a pretty cool hen who is joining a flock we know she will enjoy.
