So the Grinch has spent his time the last 24 days;
Stealing things and wreaking havoc in so many ways.

All that he has taken, Grinch has hidden in our sleigh;
And thinks he even stole Christmas on this very last day.

PoohPooh to the Whos!" he was grinchishly humming.
"They're finding out now that no Christmas is coming!"
"They're just waking up! I know just what they'll do!"
"Their mouths will hang open a minute or two,
Then the Whos down in Beaverton will all cry BooHoo!"
"That's a noise," grinned the Grinch, "That I simply MUST hear!"
So he paused. And the Grinch put his hand to his ear.
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low. Then it started to grow.
But the sound wasn't sad! Why, this sound sounded merry!
It couldn't be so! But it WAS merry! VERY!
He stared down at Beaverton! The Grinch popped his eyes!
Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!
Every Who down in Beaverton, the tall and the small,
Was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN'T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch-feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: "How could it be so?"

It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!"
"It came without packages, boxes or bags!"
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!
"Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store."
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"
And what happened then? Well...in Beaverton they say,
That the Grinch's small heart Grew three sizes that day!

As always, Beaverton stood by one another;
Reached out their hands and held up each other.

With smiles on their faces and love in their hearts;
They even welcomed the Grinch to become a part.

What the Grinch didn’t know was that when things get dark;
Beaverton people keep hope and seek out a spark.

Beaverton people rise above and become the light.✨
Merry Christmas, Beaverton. What a beautiful sight.

To no surprise Chief Davis has tracked you down;
And soon, Mr. Grinch, there’s no doubt you’ll be found.

The probable cause is stealing (and much mischiefing);
And Chief Davis says that is no small misdemeaning.

Another Beaverton gift has appeared today;
And was placed by we-now-know-WHO into our sleigh.

It’s Christmas Eve Eve, and there’s still much to do;
So in between deliveries we looked for a drive-thru.

We have been working to meet every Christmas need;
So had to get lunch where they service with speed.

A coney dog with cheese curds and a large chocolate shake;
Our neighborhood A&W had just what it takes.

But when I got to the window much to my surprise;
The Grinch was slurping from my shake and had eaten all my fries!

Sorry, Grinch, but I’m afraid you were also way too slow;
Cuz we all know for AWesome service and food, A&W is where to go.

Wait until tomorrow when we shall all see;

Grinch doesn’t surround his Christmas table with guests,
But he still stocks up on roast beast and lemon zest.

Grinch knows if you’re nice, and even if you’re naughty;
The best place to buy food is no doubt Rosati’s.

While there, he rode his cart up and down each aisle;
Grinch kept that frown on his face and refused to smile.

But down in his small heart, he found joy in the store;
He found food and good service and so much more.

The Rosati family brought a fresh market to our town;
We all agree they are the best…they are the best, hands down.

Another Beaverton gift has appeared today;
And was placed by we-now-know-WHO into our sleigh.

It’s the first day of winter and we are covered in snow;
But to Beaverton’s rescue came Patrick and Joe.

But Grinch could not wait until the plowing was done;
He hopped into the John Deere to have a little fun.

Perhaps it was because the tractor was green;
Perhaps it was because…well…Grinch is just mean.

Poor Joe was left behind holding the shovel;
“Uh oh,” he thought “this could get me in trouble.”

But Joe ran right after until Grinch hit the brakes;
Then he got back behind the wheel to do all it takes.

Our walks were plowed, salted, and cleared;
With our Beaverton City crew, we never need fear.

The Grinch has been searching to find a way;
To make known his feelings for Martha May.

He could put an ad in the paper or fly a hot-air balloon;
Yes, Grinch needed an idea and he needed it soon.

“How can I tell her? think. Think. THINK!”
“I GOT IT!” Said Grinch…I’ll get some fresh ink.

So Grinch made an appointment at “In the Mix Tattoo”;
‘Cuz he heard Kristen would know exactly what to do!

What a cool studio…so calm and so clean.
With a talented artist who knows what you need.

Grinch left with a new heart and a skip in his step;
Off to find Martha May who in his heart he has kept.
