On Thursday, January 11th, 5:30-7 pm

Join us for a fascinating discussion with samples! Hear the stories of two local businesses launching exciting product lines. Experience the delights of smooth fruit spreads infused with a Hawaiian essence and savory sauces tracing Mesoamerican history to Jalisco, Mexico.

Program Director Marcia Walker will guide us through the journey from aspiring makers to confident business owners, showcasing the comprehensive services available at the Food Innovation Center.

Our first speakers, Kristy Mollena & Robert Batulayan of use whole fruit and oat-based cream to craft flavorful spreads like Marionberry, Blueberry, Guava, and Passionfruit. Explore their applewood-smoked buttercream, available at Helvetia Farm Market, Market of Choice, Alberta CoOp, and Classic Foods.
Then Araceli de la Cruz of will share her family’s traditional birria sauce designed to enhance a foundation of meat or vegetables with the aromatic richness of local tomatoes, peppers, annatto, chocolate, and her own unique seasoning blend.
