Natural colors just hit different on a sunny day. What you’re actually looking at in this photo is different geological layers. Each layer being high in different minerals giving off these amazing colors.

Throw back to when I lived in Texas and I couldn’t shoot nature photography. Doing nature photography in the Pacific Northwest with its topography made it a lot easier than Austin where you only have small hills and flat land. This forced me to explore new styles and these are still two of my favorite photos from that time in my life.

Hiking during a forest fire was the coolest and oddest hiking I have ever done. Every breath you take hurts a little but every where you look you see rays of light piercing through the smoke. Epically oddly magically delightful but definitely not spiteful.
