What a pleasure it was to host Brenton & Audrie’s beautiful wedding day!
We’re so grateful for this sweet place on Dry Hill road and all the amazing people we get to work with!
As I pulled up to the farm, it felt like home. I first worked at Athena Estate & Vineyard before it even had a name. Years ago, before I even had Gracie, I knew Herbie and Karen.
Katie learned to drive on this farm and even had keys to her own golf cart, number 19.
When I arrived the farm was a buzz with new workers and a few explained the farm to me. That of course is their job after all, to let the vendors know where things are and how they work. Inside I thought, "oh, I know." I know this place and this place knows me. I looked around and remembered the place where my mini-van was stuck up, probably when the bride and groom were in elementary school. I remembered place where I set up the cake for my own baby shower and Katie's graduation party.
Yesterday was beautiful, not only for this sweet couple, but for me. It was everything I needed.
I will preview so many more soon but for now, I think this image shows so much about my own life that I love. The work, the people, the place.
Athena Estate & Vineyard will never be just any other venue. It was where Kelli Carrico Photography was born and I will never forget that.
