This was from one of my all time favorite art classes 13 years ago. It was called Art in Public Places at UT. We took field trips around Knoxville and studied all the different public art sculptures and ways to bring art out in the world. This project was about nature obviously and we had to design and build a sculpture using items that would naturally dissolve in nature. I designed this structure and my awesome partners helped build a tree house using only rope. Also during this class was the first time I wanted to make a wreath. I started picking up pine cones as we walked through the reserve listening to the lecture from our professor. My classmates started noticing what I was doing and I told them I needed pine cones. By the end of the class everyone had their shirts filled with pinecones for me. 😊 I made my very first wreath that night.
