Happy Saturday! Swing by Blooms and pick up a cool weather staple the Cyclamen! Technically a perennial plant, the cyclamen can go dormant in the warmer summer months, dropping back to only the tubers in the soil. Quickly springing up once temperatures cool is a hallmark of a well cared for cyclamen; they love high humidity, and being bottom watered goes a long way to prevent root rot and other ailments. With brightly colored red, white, purple and pink flowers, its no wonder these are a holiday favorite!

Unleash your inner savage gardener! These locally grown Pitcher plants w/ Sundews and Venus fly traps are must have for the curious collector. Preferring full sun and rain water, these plants are ideally kept outside in a bog style container garden, or planted right in the ground. Native to the pine barrens and other marshy areas in the eastern US, these pitchers plants are incredibly hardy and will often thrive straight through the winter! Fly traps will go dormant when exposed to the cold, but if they've been cared for properly they will spring back up with no issues when warmer weather returns.

Plant Spotlight! These 4" Eucalyptus are a frequently requested addition for plant collectors! They require strong, direct sunlight, so a south facing window is probably your best bet in the home. They are thirsty plants that require a healthy amount of water but do not like to sit in soaking wet soil, so make sure you get the soil mix just right! With delicate blue foliage and a pleasant smell, its no wonder plant enthusiasts are clamoring for these little trees!
