With apologies for the lengthy post. . .
If you have rented The Shop, you know that we ask you to obtain event liability insurance for the event. The example I often use is that if a guest accidentally drives into the building and for some reason their auto insurance wouldn't cover damages, the liability insurance would come into play. Well, this scenario happened during a recent event. We are grateful that no one was injured. And it appears in this case that the guest's auto insurance will cover all of the repairs.
To the guest who immediately called their insurance company to begin the claim process, thank you! We had the first claim check in hand by Thursday following the accident. To our insurance company, thank you for your guidance in this process.
To Sam and his crew, you are miracle workers! Sam was here first thing on Monday morning, just home from vacation, to assess the damage and began making calls for materials needed. He met with me and the insurance adjuster on Tuesday and began repairs that afternoon. By Friday at noon, 98% of the repairs were completed, including a trip to the Poconos to pick up stone for the front of the building.
To Roy and Elmer (and his tiny helper), for helping with cleaning and painting.
To Dale's employer for altering his schedule so he could be available to help with repairs.
To Denny, our master electrician, among other things. Thank you! We will never be able to repay this man for the kindness and help he has given us over the years. We will truly be lost when he decides to fully retire. Thank you, Kay, for loaning him to us.
To Riley, whose graduation party was the next day, thank you for being so flexible and generous. Very best wishes on your next leg of life's journey.
Lydia and Greg, this was not the news we wanted to share a week before your wedding. Thank you for your graciousness and understanding. We are so happy we were able to have things mostly back together for your wedding.
Finally, to our family for your support in a situation you knew was extremely stressful.
We are happy to report that all repairs are now completed.
