In light of Su***de "Prevention" month:

Reevaluating Su***de Prevention: Time for a New Approach

For years, we’ve poured millions of dollars into su***de prevention and intervention efforts. Despite this substantial investment, the return has been disappointing—su***de rates continue to climb, and countless individuals remain in distress. Our current methods are falling short, and the number of lives lost is a stark reminder that we must reconsider our approach.

We must confront a critical question: When will we embrace a new strategy? The status quo is not yielding the results we desperately need. It’s time to innovate, explore new ideas, and implement strategies that truly address the root causes of su***de and mental health crises. We owe it to ourselves and to those we seek to help to demand more effective solutions and break away from ineffective traditions.

Let’s commit to a future where our efforts produce tangible and measurable results and make a real difference in saving lives.

The time for change is now. Lives are in the balance.
