Floral "nests" were the biggest hits in 2024! Lovely Lily and John💕💕

These two were so thoughtful, so kind, and so intentional with their day (I would expect nothing else from a couple!) and this day was peaceful and seamless. Just an absolute JOY of a celebration. I had a fantastic time chatting with their families as we cleaned up after the meal, the couple was just the sweetest, I got to meet (yay!), and work with one of my dearest friends in the industry (hi Kate!). A 100/10 day please please take me back.

What does an (almost) all local bouquet look like? Like THIS 😍

The cosmos (both kinds), snapdragons, Koko Lokos, all three dahlia types, lacey hydrangeas, smoke bush, scabiosas, veronicas, yarrow, and white garden roses are ALL locally grown right here in Bellingham. Many grown by me, some from , some from .flowers. I ordered in some lisianthus and greenery because those are the textures I wanted (and the tried and true longevity for the greens).

Maybe you are asking "okay Adina, so HOW do couples know what they're going to get, if you only choose locally grown flowers for elopements?" Experience, friend! By cultivating relationships both with our local farmers and with the seasons themselves, I have a pretty good pulse on what is going to be blooming when, and who is growing what that season. There's always more to learn, but with 8 growing seasons under my belt, I've got you covered with a preliminary "mood board" so you can have an idea of what flowers are typically blooming that time of year and not go into this process completely blind. Do I promise certain blooms? Never. But I DO promise gorgeous results no matter what.

Have you heard me say never misses?! Look at that LIGHT. Unreal, the tones in this photo just speak to me.

Erin and Dave reached out early in the season to secure flowers with me, with an up-in-the-air color palette and only a few key words for how they wanted their flowers to feel (lots of texture, locally grown, romantic). Luckily for me, I got to run with it! They were loaded up with Koko Loko garden roses, dahlias, soft white scoop scabiosas, and even a little smokebush. ALL the local goodies in the softest ivory and mauve palette. YES PLEASE FOREVER

Hi flower friends, calling all August and September elopement couples🤩! Last year’s giveaway was so well received, Amber and I decided to team up this season for double the fun! We’re giving away one elopement combo (bouquet/boutonniere or two smaller bouquets etc) designed and created by me, and one complimenting DIY bucket of blooms grown right here in Whatcom County! You choose the color palette, we choose what is freshest from the farm the week of your wedding!

*You’re totally comfortable handing over the reins on what blooms you’ll see in your designs and bucket. You choose your favorite color palette, but we reserve the right to choose all the best flowers that are blooming. We’re both perfectionists and only choose the most beautiful, always.

An A La Carte order can be perfect for mountain adventure weddings that include some of your favorite people! A La Cartes get access to (almost) all of my rental inventory for your tables and can include bud vases, ikebana-style arrangements, and small centerpieces (in addition to bouquets and personals). You pick them all up within 24 hours of your wedding, and then return them within a 4 day window afterwards. Easy peasy.

Starting off the sharing of professional photos with an absolute bang. Working with Lauren was a whole vibe and I had so much fun every step of the way! From working through bud vase choices, to choosing the perfect flowers to capture the look and feel they were going for (romance baby!). SO. MUCH. FUN.

This year has marked a turning point for me in the way I interact with my couples; in years past I was too nervous to try to get to know them more since I’m “just the florist”. Now? Let’s be friends. Big hugs L+C!!

Lots of requests for wildflowers in October this season! When you’re working with local product, that can be a bit tricky and we often have to be extra flexible with exactly what types of flowers we see. On this particular week, rain was wreaking havoc on larger-headed dahlias and daintier friends like cosmos, and cooler nights were starting to put spots on certain varieties (looking at you, zinnias). I got lucky with a few cosmo friends from my garden and I LOVE the way this one turned out💙 congratulations S+S!

STOP THE PRESSES because this mega babe is front page news. Y’all knowwww how I feel about burgundy so when Kayla said she wanted to lean into it I jumped at the chance. Between the bouquets, bud vases, and cutie boutonnières this was a gorgeous wedding and a forever favorite. Maybe because half these blooms came from my garden? Maybe because the couple was is so cool? Maybe all of the above. Biggest congratulations friends!

It’s on! 2025 books are officially open here at Tangled Roots 🥳

Since I open later in the year than most designers, most dates are available and I’m really excited to meet all of you. So, what’s new for next year?! I’ll post the TLDR in my stories and save it to a highlight, and here’s a quick lil rundown (full descriptions on my website!)

Elopement offerings beginning at $400+tax for bouquet/boutonniere combo❤️ if you’re looking for a different combo of items, let’s have a chat! Other small items available with elopement orders and partial access to rental inventory too, and I am now offering delivery (to Baker area) on a limited weekday basis! Available May-Sept only.

A La Carte Florals beginning at $950+. This is perfect for partial DIYers, and includes items like bouquets, bouts and corsages, bud vases, smaller centerpieces, grounded ceremony etc. These orders are for pickup on weekdays only (no weekends, sorry friends!) and are not able to include arch/arbor design work. Access to most rental inventory included!

Full Service design beginning at $4,500+! Full Service includes delivery, setup, and often strike services and full access to all rental items including arbors and pillars. The sky is the limit here! We’ve done ceiling installations (with lighting and disco balls!), pillar arches, aisle meadows, bud vase extravaganzas, and more.

A few additional updates for 2025!
*My service area has been updated to North of Snohomish (for the most part) and expanded instead to into the San Juan Islands, up Mount Baker, Whidbey Island and Port Townsend/Poulsbo areas.
*Seattle venues require a $6,500 minimum with a partial or full service planner (separate from venue coordinator) on staff to manage the timeline.
*In years past I have been able to hold dates for couples to consider options; due to high demand, I am no longer able to hold dates!
