Dodging wind pockets and rain droplets,
we set off of the a glacier pool,
Deeply blue,
A small piece of ice,
Holding up their love story,
Ink smudges,
but worlds still felt.

A warm kiss in the cool frosty air,
as mountains stood witness.
Silent and timeless.

From Texas to this mountain crest,
A cake made with love, carried miles,
Shared in celebration with a boundless view.

Just a little bit from this incredibly sweet day with Morgan + Kellen. 🚁

Thank you to for always sending us out on epic adventures with the best guides in one of the worlds most beautiful places. 🙏🏼

Planning a wedding can be daunting, but planning an elopement is INSPIRING. ✨

When you get engaged, you're often told you need at least a year to plan a wedding. But you don't need that long all, when it comes to eloping.

How long does it take to plan an elopement??

On average, we say anywhere from 2 months to 10 months.

There are always exceptions to rules, right?

We've planned incredibly beautiful + intentional elopements before within 2 weeks. Then, on the other hand, we've also planned an elopement over the course of 16 months.

So if I put a definitive answer out it'd be - in any amount of time that works for you, depending on what you're doing + if your ideal vendors are available.

The first 3 things to do when planning your elopement:

✨ Pick an ideal date/date range

✨ Discuss together possible locations and/or important adventures to include on your day

    ✨ Hire an elopement photographer

It's faster and easier to plan elopements in locations where you don't need a special-use permit for your ceremony.

Our top 5 favorite places that don't require special use permits are:

    ✨ Sedona, Arizona

✨ BLM land in Moab, Utah (we hold that permit for you already!)

✨ Olympic National Park (5 people or less)

✨ Mt Baker area (12 people or less)

✨ Oregon Coast (50 people or fewer)

Utilizing your elopement photographer for information and planning assistance can help you easily + quickly plan.

We understand not wanting to wait a whole year to get married! We were engaged in May and married in August.

Eloping doesn't cause you to put your life on hold, go through a lot of stress planning. It allows you freedom to do more of what you want and get to share something remarkable together.

Get in touch - we would love to help you plan + capture your dream elopement day!!! ✨

How long do you think of an engagement Taylor + Travis will have??? If they eloped - where do you think they'd pick??? 👀

Drop your guess in the comment, I'll go first....

Waking up this morning felt like waking up as a kid on Christmas....wait scratch that, it felt better than that....

Why you ask?!

Because we're heading to Alaska ✨

When people ask me my favorite place to photograph, my answer truthfully is - in places that my clients already have a strong connection with. A place that is a part of their story, that's shaped their relationship in some way.

Here is the thing, though - there is something so magical, so unreal, so touching about being in Alaska.

If you have been there or haven't been there before, it is a place that instantly moves you, becomes a part of you, providing inspiration, wonder, and peace.

I feel incredibly lucky to get to capture couples' love stories in this magical place - so today I'm throwing it back to Dallas + John's elopement day in Juneau, Alaska last year.

Their first time in a seaplane.
First time on a glacier.
First time in a helicopter.
First time in alaska.
First time in a cruise.

So many first, so many memories made, so so so special.

I'm literally buzzing with excitement this week for our couple eloping on the Knik glacier and for our annual alaska adventures planned!!!

Stay tuned this week for the adventures ✨

Lately our couples have been showering us with kind words, I wanted to take the time share this recent review from Emma + Daniel who shared a beautiful day in Olympic National Park/

We can never say enough how thankful we are that our couple's trust us with their special day, but to also take the time to leave us kind words. Truly, we are forever thankful.

Maryanne + Zack shared this story with me at their elopement and I wanted to pass it on…

The Lummi people tell of a time when Kulshan (Mount Baker) and Tahoma (Mount Rainier) once lived side by side. Eventually, Kulshan wandered north, leaving Tahoma behind. In longing, Tahoma stretched higher into the sky, hoping he would return. Between them rose Shéqsan (Mount Shuksan), their child, standing in the valleys as the thread between the two.

I loved hearing this because it gives more meaning to the mountains we’re constantly photographing in—reminders that these peaks aren’t just backdrops, but living stories.

Connections through nature.

That sense of connection carried into Maryanne + Zack’s day. We watched them pause to admire plants sprouting from the earth, tiny animals in the tarn, and the color of the rocks.

These weren’t just trails or viewpoints to them—they were the landscapes that shaped them, their own backyard mountains.

And as if the mountains wanted to wrap them up in a warm congrats hug, the clouds pulled back at the end of the evening.

What had been gray and heavy softened into glowing sherbet skies, peach and lavender spilling across the ridgelines. It felt like the whole range exhaled—a sunset none of us will forget.

As I start to edit Wen + Canhui's elopement day I'm brought back to the sheer joy that this day was and how much + intention was poured into it.

These two chose to get married in the Mt Baker area, surrounded by two prominent peaks they have previously summited together - Mt Baker + Shuksan.

We started the day with a little window of stars - important to them as they've spent many nights and early morning starting + ending their adventures under the stars.

Between the dark skies + sunrise they got cozy in their sleeping bags of which they've spent many summit adventures cowboying camping in, making their wedding day coffee + breakfast.

Shuksan was hiding under the clouds but slowly started to make its appearance just in time for their emotional, private vows.

It was a morning that reflected them, the things they find joy in and an intention setting for the rest of the day celebrating with their family and closest friends.

We joined them for an early dinner at their Airbnb where Wen surprised Canhui with a live charcoal drawing video that displayed the story of their relationship. It was incredibly beautiful + moving - many of us to tears.

They shared a toast with each person after cutting their cake - which wasn't just any cake. The first layer showcased them snowboarding down Forbidden Peak - one of their favorites. The second layer then at their favorite bouldering project area in Leavenworth - also where they met. The top player showcasing their proposal at the top of Mt Rainer's Summit.

The summit of this day though - their wedding ceremony, becoming married. Bill officiated in English, while a dear friend officiated in Chinese. Their friend also wore their rings on the very carabiner that Canhui proposed with on Rainier. Their parents shared warm words, but also helped them with an important part of the ceremony - tying the knot - literally.

It was a beautiful celebration, one where you're smiling ear to ear all day. Completely tied together with intention, the story of their day and so much love. Filled with fun, truest moments and the making of fond memories.

Can't wait to share more 🥹

YA'LL - When I tell you I will never get over the joy of watching these two witness Moab for the first time on their elopement, I really mean it.

J + M traveled from Toronto, Canada in their Tesla, with their two pups in tow, to the American Southwest - for the first time. Their longest road trip, to their biggest adventure!

Day 1 - We hiked out under the stars to see the Milky Way, sipping on coffee in their sleeping bags until the sun rose, displaying the wild landscape for the first time to their eyes! They enjoyed every minute of it - laughing, running around - the excitement for the wedding day was here!

Day 2 - They got ready at their unique glamping stay, separately, so they could share a first look out among the desert towers. Little surprises brought laughter and joy. Then we set out for some off-roading with the boys in tow, stopped for a vista picnic lunch (under the snow, yes).

Soon we were reaching the vista they would be camping out at for the night (yes, we camped with them!) to set up the fire pit, tent and hubby + wife sign on their dual camp chair. They helped each other get ready and walked hand in hand to their private, emotional, beautiful ceremony. Their boys (anchored with our climbing gear) were watching alongside them, cliffside.

The night ended by the fire, under the stars, with more pizza. Stories shared and dreams spoken out loud for future adventures.

As the groom said - the best days end by a campfire under the stars.

The beauty of a place isn’t just in the view—it’s in the way it makes you feel.

It’s in the stillness that wraps around you when the world quiets down.
The warmth of the sun on your skin.
The wind tracing through your hair.
The texture of the earth beneath your feet.

It’s in the plants that grow wild and the colors that shift with the light.
In the way your breath slows.
In the space to just be—fully present, fully yourselves.

That’s what makes a location more than just a backdrop.
That’s what makes it worthy of your vows, worthy of creating a core memory together ✨

The kind of morning that asks you to slow down and just be.

The air still crisp from the snow in the meadow and ice in the tarn, the light just beginning to pour over the peaks, and two people quietly promising forever—surrounded by mountains in every direction.

They wandered down the winding mountain road to the meadow, where they got coffee, pastries, and brought their sweet pup, Deja, for joyful zoomies in the meadow.

They ended their elopement celebration by slipping off their hiking boots and dipping their feet in glacier-fed waters — soaking it all in.

Can’t decide between two epic elopement spots? You don’t have to.

You can choose both.
Yes, really.

You can have the stars + sandstone in Moab and the alpine glow of Telluride. The desert adventure and the high-elevation vows.

You don’t have to limit your story to one backdrop — not when it’s this good.

Sometimes one place just doesn’t hold all of you. Maybe one feels like calm and grounding, the other like movement and wildness.

Maybe you want the freedom of a remote red rock trail and the feeling of standing in a field of wildflowers in a mountain pass.

A two-day elopement gives you space for both. For more meaning. More memories. More time to be present and soak it all in.

This isn’t about doing more just to do more — it’s about adding depth into your overall experience.

✨ Send this to your partner if you’re stuck picking between two locations.

Moab is perfect for pairing a second day with locations in Colorado + Arizona. However, it's not the only the place that's easy to pair locations with different landscapes!

"I will love you forever; whatever happens.

Till I die and after I die, and when I find my way out of the land of the dead, I’ll drift about forever, all my atoms, till I find you again…

I’ll be looking for you, every moment, every single moment. And when we do find each other again, we’ll cling together so tight that nothing and no one’ll ever tear us apart.

Every atom of me and every atom of you… We’ll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams…

And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me." - Phillip Pullman

Traveling to your elopement destination???

Do not make this number one common mistake…..

✨ Don’t fly in + fly right out…. fly in at least two days before your elopement and two days after your elopement.

For international locations I recommend 3-4 days pending location.

Giving yourself time to settle in and organize is key to going into your day prepared physically + mentally.

Additionally, this allows you flexibility as needed for emergency or bad weather on your actual elopement day. Not to mention gives you time in case you have flight cancellations or delays, which we see more and more of these days.

Don’t worry - you won’t get bored as your elopement destination likely has tons to do around it!! One of the biggest regrets we here from couples is that they wish they had spent more time in the area where they are eloping.

Here are a few more travel tips as you make your way to your epic elopement location…

✨ Always carry on your wedding dress, suit, vows, rings, marriage paperwork and any personally important items.

✨ Book your stay after you have selected your official specific location to avoid any long drive times in the early morning or late at night. Always, map the stay to the elopement location as it can look close on the map, but there are limited roads in the mountains and deserts, which means close can be a 4-hour drive!

✨Plan ahead and use flight/credit card points systems to travel cheaper!

Send this post to your partner in crime to make sure you two plan smooth travels to your forever date!
