It's always an extra special event when we have live performers as part of our celebration and this has to be my favorite performance so far. You may remember seeing a young @vincemira busking at Seattle's Pike Place Market or his appearance on "Ellen" highlighting the likeness of his voice to that of Johnny Cash. I recall setting up for this celebration of life while Vince was rehearsing and the way his voice reverberated through the empty venue kept the hair on my arms standing on end. Our honoree was a musician and a deep lover of music so having Vince's soulful voice as part of his celebrations was simply perfect. 🎈

I've collected a lot of cool items to use in my memorial display work but I have to say this vertical display wall is my favorite of all. I'm always excited to have an honoree for whom its use is appropriate! It's been featured at four different celebrations of life and the honorees all had some things in common: they each were highly creative men who died too young and either left behind a treasure trove of ephemera they'd collected, or, in the case of my friend Josh, a lot of great social media posts that I printed for display.
This wall was originally built as a photobooth backdrop for a public Pride event I hosted in 2018 (it used to be painted in rainbow colors!) and it has transitioned beautifully into a unique display piece for creating both Epic Memorials and epic parties at home! Note the final photo is from our "Come As You Were" 1990s party last weekend where I asked our guests to come dressed like they were in a photo of themselves from the 90s! I used the wall to display everyone's photos amongst memorable 90s magazine covers I found online. Our guests loved it and had such a fun time reminiscing about a bygone era! 🎈
