I was recently invited to chat about the business of hosting Epic Memorials and the challenges of pioneering a new direction for how we celebrate our dead on an episode of 's podcast, Dear Chelsea, featuring special guest . While they couldn't offer much advice beyond "don't give up!" we had a great conversation about the need for the type of work I do and I am so grateful for the opportunity to discuss this unique business model on a platform available to such a wide audience! I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation.

The episode dropped this morning in what feels like a little gift from my Thanksgiving-born son- the inspiration behind the name EPIC Celebrations, that red balloon in the logo, and the reason I have specialized in planning celebrations of life from the beginning. At Epic Celebrations we have amassed a lot of event hosting and styling essentials that will soon be available for rental for your DIY events!

Our decor inventory is best suited for smaller events with guest lists under 50, such as baby showers, birthday parties, micro-weddings, and dinner parties, but we do have equipment on hand that can be used for any size of event. We'll be happy to put together an affordable rental package of anything we have that suits your needs!

Our inventory includes but is not limited to:

Table Settings: table cloths, runners, placemats, chargers and napkins
Tables - 60" round, 31" round, 6' banquet, and 4' banquet
Candle votives
Vases & bottles
Plates & Goblets
Beverage dispensers & bins
Keg tubs
Photo booth backdrop
Mannequins & hat stands
Easels & photo frames
A/V package including projector, screen, tv, and PA system

We loved working with our friends Marjorie and Joseph at who I asked to cater the dinner for our Darigold event earlier this week! They happily delivered on my request for a menu made up of “down home comfort foods” and featuring Darigold products. The presentation was perfect and the food was delicious- what more can you ask for from your caterer? Having a good time working together is just the icing on the cake! 🎈

Sending a big shoutout to my new friends for the epic service they provided along with our rental of one of their luxury restroom trailers for Tuesday evening’s event! As a professional event planner, it’s critically important that I work with vendors I can rely on to take seriously the success of my events and it can be a bit anxiety-provoking to put the control of important details into the hands of others.

Big thanks to Michelle at for having some fun with our dairy related theme at the LegenDARI Awards celebration last night! Your suggested signature cocktail could not have been a bigger hit with our guests and I appreciate your willingness to oblige our preference for supporting local breweries and distilleries and even though it meant navigating your too-cool-for-school 😎 mobile bar through narrow city streets! Scenes from an Epic Celebration!

I spent the past several weeks planning Epic Celebrations’ first corporate event with the fine team at in support of their annual LegenDARI Awards presentation. Epic Celebrations managed all aspects of this event which featured shuttle transportation, cocktail hour and seated dinner for 48, freshly prepared ice cream for dessert and lively entertainment by .

I could not have been more fortunate to have the beautiful landscape at Schoneveld Countryside Dairy setting the scene for this event. An inspiring backdrop like this makes styling an event so easy and fun!

Thank you again and your hardworking hubby for being such generous hosts! I enjoyed watching the two of you get a chance to relax and enjoy the festivities after all the preparations you made to make this event a beautiful success. 🎈

I was called on to style my first baby shower last weekend! Of course I was asked to create a Classic Pooh theme which holds a great deal of sentiment for me- a long time fan of the works of A.A. Milne, my son’s initials were chosen to honor the author and my dog, Winter, is more commonly known as Winnie in a nod to my love for Pooh Bear. I loved working with these classic images and that gorgeous dusty blue was perfect for the new little boy whose pending arrival my clients were celebrating.

Thanks and for many of the floral stems used to create these arrangements to fit our theme!
