With over 60 varieties of flowers and herbs growing, I have the luxury of choosing what is at its peak when making arrangements. I don't have to place an order for my flowers and I get to dry everything I don't end up using.
Why use a recipe - it saves time, drives consistency, and streamlines the harvest. Each bouquet has the same ingredients so you get a similar result. I use this method when I'm building my subscriptions each week because of the volume it requires.
When I don't use a recipe - luxury florals and custom orders. Unless there is a specific request, I let the field guide and inspire me. I don't go in with a design in mind. I look for the flowers with character, let the colors draw me in, and their bends decide the shape of the arrangement. It's nature's art, I just provide the vessel.
