Our birds are bred from racing pigeons (aka Rock Doves) and are trained with our racing birds for distance and strength all year long. We vaccinate our birds to protect them from common diseases and keep them on a strict diet and vitamin regimen to maintain their health. All of this is coordinated by the loft manager and my dad, Jim Ruffini. Jim is a retired Marine who has raised and raced homing pigeons since childhood. He has built lofts across America from Washington DC to Hawaii until he retired and built our current loft just south of Kansas City. He has raised many champion birds over the last 50+ years of the sport. When raising our release doves, he starts training the young birds early in summer. It's not uncommon to see a free dove release along Holmes Road or from open parking lots along 71 highway in June!
